  1. I don't know...that looks an awful lot like a 3d grader's safety-scissors-and-gluestick work to me: Seriously. That's the BEST they could come up with?
  2. Ahhhh... Excellent point. I was overlooking the obvious there!
  3. Agreed on that crappy cover. Mattias is a monster guitarist - no wonder he always has that smile on his face when he's playing.
  4. Especially if the high bidder is west of the Rockies!
  5. Looks like it comes with a real, live Phantom case too. Those always seem to go missing, much like Daytona cases and my left socks...
  6. They were offered at the second HFC Day at the factory in '99. Very small run, dictated by the very small supply of usable Sustainblocks they had at the time (Sustainblocks hadn't been used on a production guitar then for just under 10 years, and they were left over from Arlington Hts.).
  7. The infamous, "SB77", the second HFC Limited Edition guitar: The tops weren't so hot on them though...
  8. Definitely fantasy, but I don't think that we'd be able to scrape up 10 HFC'ers willing to drop well in excess of $5k each (street price) for those. If they would consider doing those, it would definitely not be cheap! The $350 rule would not apply here.
  9. Oops - forgot Stonge's Greenburst Standard 8 string.
  10. So far today, I'm liking the 0706 Standard... If that one is already taken (it is), then I'll take "my" Electraglide, please!
  11. Badger is correct - the Eclipse run was over by a few years when the Hipshot BG bridge was out. I'd say definitely not original.
  12. ALL of those redwood tops are just amazing. Nik's stuff is primo.
  13. If it's redwood, it can be burled. Not real crazy about that figure myself either.
  14. Obviously, you haven't seen HIS sex tape...
  15. More cool pics. That Goldtop is the $#!+ !!!
  16. If I recall, around 36 lbs. I've picked up the checkered one a few times, but couldn't tell you if it was 30 or 50 lbs. It's pretty deceiving because of all the damned necks! I wouldn't want that thing on my shoulders and back for too long. How that guy runs around with that thing, tosses it in the air and still manages to play it (well, "Surrender" isn't exactly the most technically challenging song), is pretty nuts.
  17. In that price range, I'd recommend a Martin 000-16RGTE. That's one "production" acoustic I've played that haunts me. They also make a Dread version.
  18. ENJOY! ENJOY! ENJOY! Slainte, gang!
  19. I could be off about the original one's headstock getting sent to Hamer for a headstock repair. I got to check out RN's Hamer version a few times before it was broken, so maybe that's why I thought it was the other one (??). I do remember discussing the repair on one of those with somebody. I'll have to confirm that bit from the owner. As far as having "another" Tbolt built, the origin of that guitar has been denied before by some people in New Hartford, but it is the real deal. I don't think that's one you'll see rolling out to a dealer from CT any time soon...or ever. A few have suggested that before as well.
  20. I'd be inclined to go with the 6-in-line Talladega myself. Double Ds and a Sustainblock. Maybe solid colors or something, you know, "Recession Friendly". Bound board w/dots, and I'd be happy! The Thunderbolt would be great, but that would also never happen (I'm pretty certain about that!). The "original" was built by Chris Lukasic in the early '90s, along with a midwest Guitar dealer, Dave Kenney (I custom-ordered my '91 Standard that Bubs42 now owns from Dave). It was made from old Korina wood and original '50s Gibson parts, and was an April Fool's Day prank in a UK Guitar Magazine. Rick borrowed it and had it out on tour, and supposedly broke the headstock and sent it to Hamer for a repair. Hamer made their own accurate version of that one in 1995. Rick ended up recording and touring with the Hamer, and it was in regular rotation for quite some time, and still shows up on the road. An HFC'er owns the original Lukasic Tbolt, and there may even be a few others floating around. The Gibson copies don't quite get the shape right and were priced out of the stratosphere, but there are at least two of them, as Serial mentioned. Hiroshi Kid made a small run of Korina Tbolts in '96, but I haven't seen any of those for sale outside of the Jpns market. Fernandes made Rick's other Korina one, but that is not a faithful copy of the original mythical guitar apart from the body shape. Despite the fact that they look unweildy, they are incredibly comfortable to play and hang perfectly from a strap. Sitting down...not so much!
  21. Cool work - when you're done, it'll look just like this one...almost! (as modeled by our founder, Ted Martin)
  22. Just picked up a 4pk of Duvel. Now I have someone to toast with it! Enjoy your day, MCC!
  23. The Darkness was one of the better shows I've seen in the last 5 years. I've seen a LOT of really good shows in that time period too, but they were totally living it up - it was a full-on, '70s style, big rawk show. Yes, they are currently residing in the "Where are they now?" file, but that was a damned good live band.
