  1. Not to worry, John. I personally love just staring at the headstock instead of PLAYING THE DAMN THING. I'm pretty sure most of the six-on-a-side shredder-types with the stadium logo are like that, and it always looked just fine to me.
  2. I love these.
  3. You're supposed to know stuff?!? "Seven years of college down the drain."
  4. Hey John Answers to your questions: 1. Yes 2. No 3. Yes You have a desirable guitar, but you're well into Boomer territory price-wise. With no pics and being a new guy, well..... You'll need a Photobucket (or similar) account to post pics. Research the going rate for a dot-neck Cali, post up some good clear pics (we love shiny things), and see if the response isn't a little better. Good luck with the sale. The Cali is my favorite Floyd guitar.
  5. I find it interesting that someone with such vast experience, knowledge, and beauty is so completely uneducated about who and/or what makes a superior instrument.
  6. Asshole. Made me snot on the screen.
  7. Have to be a reverse Virt headstock then. I'm tellin' ya - too normal ain't the Hamer way. We need Abby something.....
  8. Give it up, Nate. Pretty sure he/she/it had their fun and have left the building.
  9. Tough call. I think as the building process was refined the instruments just kept getting better. They truly went out on top.
  10. What is the authority of your source? Who will corroborate that claim?
  11. That's some funny sh!t right there.
  12. The inlays are off-center.
  13. The USA models will always have 'USA' in small letters after the Hamer logo, and an inked or stamped serial number on the back of the headstock (not a sticker, as on the imports).
  14. If they ever have the Overthinker Olympics, you'll win gold for sure, Nate. USA USA USA!!!
  15. Hey Gina! Nice to have you here! USA Hamers vs import Hamers is sorta like Volkswagen vs Rolls Royce: same sport, different league. If you ever have a chance to play a USA Hamer, you'll instantly see and feel the difference. Generally speaking, the earliest imports are considered the best of the imports and say 'Slammer Series' under the Hamer logo. The Stellar model is among the second wave of imports (plain Hamer logo, nothing else), and are decent quality. The 'Slammers' are more recent and generally considered the worst of the bunch. Hamer has the most baffling naming system ever, so if you're at all confused you're right at home. That's just a quick, broad overview. You came to the right place for answers. The search function might help you out, too.
  16. You're not a real social butterfly, are you? You want help from the most knowledgeable Hamer people on the planet who are also some of the friendliest you'll find anywhere, but you're really coming off as a bit of a.....unfriendly person. Lighten up. We'll help if you let us. Ball licking is optional.
  17. Jeez crunchee, maybe Engrish isn't his native language. Maybe he speaks TGP. Or LPF. Gotta cut the new guy some slack. New guy - good luck finding all you want under $300. If you do, let us know! The Stellar 3 might be close, but nowhere near a USA Hamer. (FYI - if you look just above and slightly to the left of 'Veteran HFCer' or 'Outer Circle', you'll find our actual screen names)
  18. That's kinda where I was going. The Tally is a familiar shape, but the Standard headstock and Sustain Block are distinctly Hamer. And the combination is slightly oddball, which is Hamer. The only thing more Hamer is Boomers, and that can't happen for the $$. A slab body keeps the price down (but forearm and tummy cuts would be pretty nice).
  19. Jeez a solid maple Cali is just salt in the wound, isn't it?
  20. How 'bout a Cali? Would it be OK on a Cali?
  21. What kind of commie doesn't like a Standard headstock?!?
