Warmoth tung oil fininshed walnut body and Warmoth pickguard...Neck from a Japenese Fender Thinline... Washburn branded Gotoh locking tuners...Wilinson pickups....I was going to sell the body and abandon the project until a local shop offered me a busted up Thinline for $60...sold the F neckplate for $20 then paid $29 for the pickups and $17 for the tuners on ebay...bridge cost me $10 and came off a Mexican tele, and the straplocks were $1 apiece from a fellow in Canada. This budget project turned into one of the best sounding Teles I've ever played!

I've seen the half a twenty thread, the Carvin Steve Vai amp thread, the Ed Rechts "Panzy" thread, and a whole bunch of annual summer meltdown threads, but this may well be the most amazing of them all...pass the popcorn...
+ 1 That dude is awesome. Covers every style and is one of the best. He's most definitely in the top 10 of players I'd like to jam with. I'm sure his resume is incredible. Gotta also add Redd Volkaert (well..he's not new but neither is Brent--ha Redd makes the list anyway outta principle) and those two young guitar players from Avenged Sevenfold for the metal crowd. Mayer is a lame and safe choice for RS to sell some mags..but good on 'em for throwing Derek Trucks in there. John Fruisuicopjkyuiououcate (sp?ha) is a great player. Redd's the man! Bill Kirchen's new'un...Hammer of the Honky Tonk Gods...kicks major butt as well. I like John Fruisuicopjkyuiououcate myself, and Trucks as well. I saw Mayer on the Crossroads DVD; I guess he was all right, but BD's right about the hideous guitar faces! I like that kid who plays guitar for Los Lonely boys as well.
If the Super Bowl ever had a better halftime show, I don't remember it. I'm not even particularly a Prince fan, but I always have admired his guitar playing and his halftime performance certainly impressed me. It was nice watching him abuse a Telecaster as well.
