It isn't much at $10 an hour and from what I recall the guys in the Hamer shop aren't making much more, even the skilled guys, it's just not the type of career to become wealthy from. I don't make much on the cabinets I build either. Most people don't realise that even with all that hand work and the price that the guitars sell for the employees building them aren't the ones profitting from their sales. Around here you start at $8 pr hr and really good cabinetmakers might get up to $25 after many years. The business owner on the hand does quite well. And yeah, I don't think Frank at Hamer running the CNC to cut the bodies would like being referred to as a "pinhead" which he isn't .

You'd figure a guy who could afford a '59 Les Paul and that amp could afford to pay a little more for production values on his video! Well he bought the amp new as a "second" for $850, the '59 he bought used when that's all it was...a used guitar..I think he said he paid like $1700 for that. Anyhow, he has had that gear for years when it wasn't a big deal to buy it.

FWIW, those amps were $850-$1500 new, so , like the '59 Les Paul, it has become legendary and so has the asking price.

I kept looking at this picture because it seemed so familiar yet not....I realized it's my front yard with my old Studio Custom that's been Photoshopped into an Electraglide. D'oh!

I remember getting my 1st Hamer in '99 and finding the HFC then but didn't figure out how to sign up and use the boards for a year or so after that I think. Duh, me 'puter illiterate then and now. I found me on that list, Feb. 6th, 200 was when I finally figured out how to post something, duh.

I don't know about this...it's fairly common around here for people to gripe about what Fender has done with Guild and Tacoma. It's a selling point if your Guild or Tacoma is "pre-Fender". Of course it could just be because I live about 7 miles from the old Westerly, RI Guild plant. I don't think this will be good in th elong run.

I agree with Mr. Mathes. I think he pretty much hit the nail on the head there. I have a '59 Gibson ES 125 that I am trying to find a value on right now. So far I have seen the numbers all over the place from $800 to $2000. Depends on where ya look.
