  1. I didn't know that about him. I have much more respect for him now. Thought he was one of those guys who never thought of anyone but himself and his next conquest. Come on, Taylor can almost sing in key and strum a guitar at the same time. I mean, how many people can do that?
  2. I've only seen one other shirtless guy playing that song on a guitar like that to a crowd of thousands do a better job. Edited to add And if it's gotten to the point that playing ability determines when, what, or how we can play I'm pretty fucked. I was referring to super rockstars and playing in front of a paying audience. If you are a super rockstar on tour, then yes, I mean you. Why doesn't your ability to play a song factor into whether you play it for an audience? Especially when you are a super rockstar. And if you are doing what appears to be a tribute performance of a song, I think it at least the main riffs should be played well with a similar tone and feel. But YMMV.
  3. Why? How do YOU do it? Don't tell me you wear a shirt! I tried it once and the audience called animal control. Didn't end well for the animal control people.
  4. He jumped the shark for me when he covered a Van Halen tune shirtless while playing a Frankenstein clone. Edited to add He did not play the tune well enough to warrant playing shirtless on a Frankenstein clone. It would be like covering a Hendrix tune on one of Jimi's old guitars wearing a Jimi style outfit but not nailing the solo. Not cool to begin with, but even less cool when you don't deliver. He does usually play well, I will give you that, but this time was pitiful.
  5. What happens when you combine two of the first electric guitar designs, P90 les paul and broadcaster? This beauty. Very nice
  6. Now I know what I want to do this month. Thanks.
  7. I must have simple tastes cause the butcher really intrigues me. Murkat or the owner of wyldbil's former sunburst murkat is refinishing should post here. That one seems to have some history.
  8. Mine actually has nothing to do with the infamous amplifier manufacturer from the U.K. I share the same middle name with an infamous strat player who was in the U.S. Army for a spell.
  9. Never knew about those. In a Willie interview they said there were only about 150 production models, all imports. The orange artisan and your usa custom both make me weak in the knees. Cool indeed.
  10. Our elementary k-4 has a music class but no choral/band string programs. The intermediate 5-6th grade has band as an elective where you have a daily class with a all group :and once a week before school the entire band meets. My son is starting this fall on the trombone. Could be a good instrument for developing an ear.
  11. The world needs more people like you Gene. No, not crazy guitar fanatics. Too many of those. Kind hearted people who take time to give back to the community.
  12. ^^^ this!!!! It works . . . but then it smells like clean laundry. Seriously, I am NOT kidding. My 4 digit smells like Bounce, but I would rather that smell than the Marlboro smell. I just leave them in the case all the time.
  13. Makes me think Billy Bo for some reason . . . Very cool project. It was definitely sent to the right mad scientist to bring her alive. Congrats to owner and to Jay for making dreams reality.
  14. I moved to existing pick guard on my mid 80s MIJ Fender since holes did not line up on the guard.
  15. If this is true, then the tour truly is dead.
  16. I have this set up in my #1 strat. Cleans are cleaner. No feedback. Passable mid boost for thicker humbuckerish tones. I have played a strat plus with lace sensors (red white and blue) and really liked those but I would only pick that on my #2 strat for a change of pace. I don't even play a strat on stage anymore. Again, if you like clean tones, these are real good. I have had them for about eight years of which the first two years this was one of only two Electrics that I owned/played.
  17. Awesome. Totally awesome.
  18. Len's Ferrari red sunburst is what started my Hamer obsession. Serial had her for sale and Len grabbed her just before I made Serial an offer for more than he was asking. The one that got away.
  19. 8 0492 looks like a text book B&C Sunburst, and no mini toggle or Kahler, bonus!! Congrats!!!!
  20. In other words, you called in a hard, pipe-hittn' n***** who went to work on homeboy there with a pair of pliers and a blowtorch. Exactly. The HFC rules!
  21. So true. I had a deal with a retailer that went bad. I was financially bent over the poma horse Pulp Fiction style, pants down. An HFCer stepped in and I got my $$$ back. BadgerDave's offer is another great reason this place is awesome.

  23. SVL did rock the vector most of the show with sprinkles of phantom and prototype. I will be rocking my mahogany vector at an outdoor gig this Saturday.
