Feynman Posted February 11 Posted February 11 (edited) Sold. Thank you. --- This was my first real Hamer, and it's come back to me (to sell, as would be expected). Very good overall condition. One small nick through the finish near the knobs (see photos) Back of guitar has many indentations and overall signs of playing wear, though nothing through the finish. See photos, but this is hard to photograph. Approx 8.5 lbs Includes OHSC, etc. I've been away from this stuff for a long time now, so I don't know how to price it. Let me know if I'm off base. I'm easy to talk to. Asking $2400 shipped. Thanks for looking, and please let me know if you have any questions. Edited February 14 by Feynman 19 Quote
Gabe Posted February 13 Posted February 13 And the cream-colored pickup rings look way better than black ones (like on an artist ultimate). Gabe 😀 1 Quote
cmatthes Posted February 13 Posted February 13 That's totally killer. A "Feynman" truss rod cover would have lit it over the top though... 1 1 Quote

Feynman Posted February 13 Author Posted February 13 ^ What he said. Thanks for all of the kind words, but you're making me want to keep it. For no reason whatsoever. Maybe start insulting it instead. It's got indentations! 3 Quote

lang Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I can't believe anyone would actually play a guitar with -squiggles-. Well, I mean I would, but guitars have very low expectations of me in general. 1 2 Quote
Feynman Posted February 27 Author Posted February 27 (edited) Our patient buyer still doesn't have it. Chicago? Palmetto twice? Frustrating. Think it's still in one piece? Priority Mail said three days, and Ground Advantage four, for quite a bit less. I probably should have paid the extra. Edited February 27 by Feynman 2 Quote

I’ve had things land there and be stuck for weeks. You better drive over there and look for it. 1 Quote
Dr. Bear Posted February 27 Posted February 27 As several of you can testify, I neither send nor purchase a guitar without an Apple AirTag placed inside the guitar case. Thus, when things go awry, one can often tell where the instrument is within 50 feet or so. For example, when USPS tracking could not locate a guitar, I was able to tell the purchaser not only that the guitar was in a post office in his city, but even approximately where in the post office it was stashed. And, when a guitar was due to arrive on a particularly cold day, I knew when to be home to receive it because I could track the UPS truck before UPS enabled online tracking. 1 3 Quote
lang Posted February 27 Posted February 27 USPS has been a crap-shoot for me over the past year or two. If I were to guess, I'd estimate around 25% of packages that I've tracked either got stuck or mis-routed. Sent a pedal from the southeast to midwest -- It took a detour through Alaska first, then didn't update for a week. Priority seems to have better luck, though. (at least in my extremely limited sample size) Since then, I buy shipping labels at PirateShip and just drop my stuff off at the UPS store. The only probs I've run into that way are delays. I actually almost to the point where if I want to buy something online, I feel like I should probably ask the seller if they can do something other than USPS. Quote
velorush Posted February 27 Posted February 27 1. Daughter, fleeing her now ex-husband USPS Priority Mailed a box of heirloom books back home. They got to Atlanta and have never been seen again. 2. I paid a Vendor in Canada with a paper check (Canadian and USA ACH don't interface). Vendor didn't receive it timely, so we talked and I issued another check. He called nine months later. The envelope with the first check arrived with a stamp (meaning, this happens frequently enough that a rubber stamp was made), "Routed Through Maylasia." I can see the mix-up: Canada, Maylasia, they're pretty close in both spelling and pronunciation. 2 1 Quote
Feynman Posted February 27 Author Posted February 27 Ha! I'll take Chicago over Malaysia (wait, will I?). We are supposedly out for delivery today, so hopefully it doesn't arrive having been speared by a forklift. In general I've had good experiences with all of the carriers, but I'll probably avoid Ground Advantage now. 1 Quote

FYI: In 2022, Chicago's murder rate was 26.07 per 100,000 people. Malaysia's homicide rate is around 2.3 per 100,000 people, which is lower than the global average of 7.6 per 100,000 people. 2 Quote

hamerhead Posted February 28 Posted February 28 FWIW - would definitely take Malaysia over Chicago. I live 2 miles outside of town. If I mail anything to anyone in town, it goes thru Milwaukee (90 miles away) first and takes 3 days. The postal service is losing money? Go figure. 1 Quote

Take any nationwide chain of any type of business at all, restaurant, retailer, anything. Go to a location in Nashville, Chattanooga, Knoxville, anywhere and transact business. Now go to the same store in Memphis. The experience will be very different. Memphis don't give a rat's behind. At all. Ever. And we get that level of "service" in every piece of mail in West Tennessee. We've gotten where we just hold birthday cards until the next time we see the recipient. 1 Quote
