Yep! Weird Al won a grammy for the song "Eat it", which Derringer produced, and also played the guitar solo on. I honestly might like it better than the EVH solo on the original.

What was the Grammy category? "Best Ripoff of a Popular Song Which Required No Originality or Creativity"?

Sad day great guitar player and so much more. I saw him back in the day with "WHITE TRASH" and he was an amazing player.

Yikes! Sounds like the whole band was packing their beaks for this show.

Who is this Edgar Winters?

I think he's a distant cousin of '80s lounge lizard Jackie Rogers, Jr.

I used to listen and play along with this back in the day. Back in the U.S.A. comes to mind as does Tobacco Road. High Energy

I always thought he was cool,  always used to stare at the cover of guitars and women when I was a kid…

I didn’t realize he wrote and produced “still alive and well”.  What a kickass tune.

Dave, I also loved that cover and the Peach colored Quilt top Mockingbird he was holding on the cover, I got to meet him backstage after a show in Orlando 1980 ... I asked him if he had that guitar with him ... he said he rarely played it, but yes ... "Wanna see it and play with it?"  I'm still tingling 45 years later ... His music will live within me forever ... one of my true guitar heroes

One of my 'Deserted Island' records is Johnny Winter And Live with Rick playing guitar beside Johnny. If you haven't owned this, you must. They both rock hard and every song just kills.
