@ZR, if it was the the tour right after Randy died than you indeed saw Brad Gillis with his red Strat playing the Rhoads and Iommi parts. And he played them very well indeed.  The Sabbath songs were immortalized on the “Speak of the Devil” Ozzy album.

It was actually Bernie Torme first.  He lasted about a week before bolting, then Brad came along.

I know I'm in the minority (something I've gotten used to), but I don't need to ever see Jack Black again.

It's enough, already. Overexposure for a mediocre talent, IMO.

Same goes for The Rock, Samuel L Jackson, and John Goodman.

What was it Thoreau said?  Something like "A man who is right is a majority of one"

1080p. Looks/sounds great.

I found most of the official broadcast on youtube the day after. So I just downloaded it from Youtube, in case they'd take them down. All the stuff I wanted to see, except for Alice in Chains.

What do you use to download?  All the downloaders I used to use seem to have gone away.

I didn’t know that! I saw then about 2-3 weeks after Randy passed with Brad and assumed he was the replacement all along.

I have been using AVC for many years. Always works. Also for Facebook videos and other platforms.

Me too! I thought Brad was the odd man out who wan’t invited. Yet after, Randy passed he kept Ozzy going on tour until Jake was selected for the 3rd album. I saw Brad play on that tour right after Randy died and he was freaking amazing…. The entire concert was,TBH. They actually HUNG a little person. Legs kicking until they weren’t and he hand there the entire second half of the show.

I think Gillis is one of those guys who gets overlooked and shouldn't be.

For God's sake, the man has been using non fine tuner Floyds for over 40 years floating.  He should get an award just for that.

I use ClipGrab for MacOS. Works great. I finally sent the developer 100 euros after all this time, he deserves it.

We are getting to the time in life when all our heros will be passing, which is sad. But the outpouring of love & respect was uplifting.

Sabs is my all time fave band. Last time I saw them in 2005 they sucked, and it really bummed me out. Seeing Ozzy straped to that chair like some of the nursing home patients I see at work really bummed me out. He sounded terrible on the clip of War Pigs, I had to turn it off. But I got a lump in my throat during Mama I'm Coming Home, which also sucked but the emotion was palpable.

I didn't see everything, I just picked thru clips on youtube for an hour or so the next day. Most sounded a little rough, as real live clips do. I thought AIC & Tool sounded very good. As someone noted earlier, lots of guys were having trouble hitting Ozzys parts, but Lizzy Hale sounded great! I will not be buying any tarted up overdubbed version this xmas, I prefer Speak Of The Devil 😁

He's a fantastic guitar player, and my guitar teacher (who is a HUGE Ozzy fan) really wishes that the live album Gillis was on was more readily available. I remember him talking to me about how excited everyone was when the 2002 Reissue of Blizzard of Ozz came out, with "You Lookin' at Me Lookin' at You" as a NEW Bonus track. Like NEW Rhoads after 20 years? And it's a great freakin song!

Getting back to Gillis, I remember reading an article about the "process" to replace Randy Rhoads, which involved Brad Gillis as well as George Lynch, as well as the eventual replacement Jake E. Lee. As was/is standard for Ozzy's "management" they pretty much screwed over as many musicians as they could. George Lynch was pretty much making ends meet by delivering whiskey, but still finding time for rehearsals and even going on tour as a backup with Ozzy when Gillis was playing, and ended up with nothing. He even worked with his buddy Warren DeMartini when learning the songs, as usually Lynch only played his own stuff.

All that work, no compensation. Shades of when Kerslake and Daisley were canned simply for asking the production to maybe get them somewhere to live while recording. After seeing how Lee was treated, Gillis probably dodged a bullet. Sure he missed out on that exposure, but he also missed out on being treated like garbage. Now if only they would re-release the live stuff he played on so we could all enjoy it and he could get more recognition.

I just watched one - great quality! Entire concert is in one file, much better than hunting bits and pieces from Youtube.

It’s a huge file, nearly 30GB! At first I was FFWD through the TikTok testimonials, but they are actually kind of a nice way to break up the viewing experience. Ozzy’s fans really love him.

I see, now. Oops.

Gillis gets the most crushing tone on “Speak …” Massive gain, but never mushy. Sits in the mix perfectly.

Yes, Brad Tommy & Rudy kill it. I've got the board mix for the 2 nights on cd-r. Ozzys vocal sounds better tone wise than the double tracked tarted up final mix, but he hits a buncha clams.
