Stike Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I've got a Strat body (an old ESP 400 series to be exact) that I'm going to part with soon, it's been stripped and is in sealer awaiting color. I'm going into work tomorrow to apply silver flake base coats to it and a few other bodies as well. Here's the question, after the silver flake base I'm going to do a candy color over it and want to know what is the most desriable (easiest to sell) color is.
Jeff R Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I'd say red too. Seems like that's the most popular color in general for a guitar after black and white. Looks good with rosewood or maple fingerboard and a variety of pickguard colors too.
LordOfTheThighs Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I seen an orange sparkle Strat somewhere. Orange looks really good on the Strat body. Especially with a maple neck.Just my 2 cents.
Jack C Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I voted blue but I say leave the color off. Silver metalflake guitars look great.
cmatthes Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Orange.Cool.Kinda trashy in a gaudy-assed Gretsch-y way!
Guitarseh Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I had to vote for purple, even though it isn't really the best seller Mark B
Stike Posted May 20, 2006 Author Posted May 20, 2006 I gotta say I'm surprised at the amount of votes teal has so far.
Jorge Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I'd say red too. Seems like that's the most popular color in general for a guitar after black and white. Really? I´d be very suprised. My guess is red guitars do not sell very well at all.I'd say the most "liquid" colors are black, sunburst, natural, and "vintage white".
atquinn Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 It looks like the Teals have it (that's what I voted for )
cmatthes Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I think the orange is cool too, but this is also a great look: (Aquaflake)
Brooks Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 I voted blue but I say leave the color off. Silver metalflake guitars look great. +1.
