atquinn Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I'm putting my '96 Cali Elite on the selling block. I'd like to get $1450 for it shipped with the hardshell case. Based on the ridiculous prices they've been going for on eBay, this seems reasonable, but feel free to haggle with me. The guitar is in awesome conditions except for some finish wear on the back of the neck. The wear is not visible, but you can feel it under your thumb. Also, while the guitar currently has the factory-stock PATB pickups in it, I experimented with a variety of pickups in the neck (one is shown in the 2nd picture), so the guitar is not technically stock. I'd be willing to trade for a Studio with a Floyd Rose or a Baker with a trem, otherwise, I'm just looking to sell (that shouldn't keep you from offering me trades though, because you never know ). Anyway, here are some pics. Email me at atquinn1975 AT yahoo DOT com if you want me to send you a whole bunch more.
ZR Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Is it as orange as the 1st pic shows or more wood tone/hony like the 2nd pic?
edgar_allan_poe Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 *ahem* "Baker with a trem" Why bother? You have the second best Baker ever made. The first is my all mahogany B1 with a smokin ebony board.
atquinn Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 Is it as orange as the 1st pic shows or more wood tone/honey like the 2nd pic? The color is Aztec Gold, which has always looked Depends on the lighting. The first pic was taken outside in natural sunlight, the second was taken indoors with not too much sunlight and no flash. The color is Aztec Gold, which has always looked like a fairly bright (but not obnoxious) orange to me.-Austin
atquinn Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 wow I'm thinking about it !! Don't think, do!
silentman Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 The old aztec gold has a bit of an orange look to it. It's a fabulous color. The new aztec Hamer has been shooting lately has less orange and more yellow/gold look to it. I prefer the old look.

I haven't decided if that Baker is exactly "me" yet. However, it's so sweet it makes me want to try as many other trem'd Bakers as I can get my grubby paws on!

And I like orange guitars.
atquinn Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 Pic? I don't believe I've seen that one before. It looks kind of like this: Except it looks better now that the knobs are all amber top hat knobs and, like anything I take a picture of, it looks much better in person .
serial Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Damned nice guitar and those flamebody Calis are always hot.
atquinn Posted June 29, 2006 Author Posted June 29, 2006 The previously on-hold deal isn't going to happen, so the Cali is back on the market! Here's another picture; I have alot more available for those who are interested. -Austin
atquinn Posted June 30, 2006 Author Posted June 30, 2006 O.k., I got off my ass and uploaded all the pics to my Photobucket site, here:http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v157/atquinn1975/Cali/-Austin

Lockbody Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 atquinn,Mark this down:You WILL kick your own ass for selling this guitar, down road. Not if he buys a Custom from Fung he won't.Hell, I already regret selling my beater Cali a little bit. I've really sweated this one baaaddd, but I'd have to sell my Standard and my Daytona to swing it, and that ain't happening.
atquinn Posted June 30, 2006 Author Posted June 30, 2006 atquinn,Mark this down: You WILL kick your own ass for selling this guitar, down road. Not if I'm able to replace it with what I think I'll be able to replace it with -Austin
atquinn Posted July 14, 2006 Author Posted July 14, 2006 I am interested. Are you still selling? Sorry, it's long gone. In fact, the guy that bought it from me sold it for quite a profit a few days later on eBay (although to be fair, he did offer to sell it back to me for the price I sold it to him first. Just didn't bond with it I guess). -Austin
Guest galejt Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 ... all mahogany B1 with a smokin ebony board. Post a photo preez?

What did you get anyway?
atquinn Posted July 15, 2006 Author Posted July 15, 2006 What did you get anyway? I haven't gotten it yet and I don't want to tempt the fates, so my mouth is shut until the deal goes through and the guitar arrives.-Austin
