Hey, this looks pretty cool ! The seller says there was a limited run of these Goldtop Standards in 1997. Could be a nice one for Jaye's Hamer return.

That was sold new at GuitarWorks in Indianapolis. I saw it there back in 99'. Very cool Standard. I have always wondered where that one went.

Technically it was the first, as far as they knew. Their record keeping must look like a stack of post-it notes.

Greg's does look a bit better to me. The covered pickups look better on the goldtop.

Here's a snapshot showing the difference between old (pre-2004ish) and new Hamer Goldtop finishes:

I prefer the new, but the old version has an interesting chartreuse tint.

+1 one on "new" Goldtop. Kinda the same deal with 59 Burst. And Indigo for that matter. Hamer's doing great colors these days.
