ZR Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 No reserves so getcha a good deal! I have a 240 100% positive Ebay rating and a ton of HFC and net refs. My first daughter has started college this year. My wife hasn't worked for the last few months. New Air conditioner for the house this summer. We'll need a new roof soon...and I have too many guitars around here! I won't shut the auctions down early but will give half-price shipping to HFCers.Ebay AuctionsCheck other items listed on the right of the above link for more stuff; Zinky speaker, Washburn Idol, Seymour Duncan Custom Shop El Diablo pickups, keyboard controller, V-amp, Boss footswitch etc.
ZR Posted December 10, 2007 Author Posted December 10, 2007 Man, this is like a full time job!! I just put the auctions up last night and I've already talked to people from Spain, Russia, Italy, France, Canada and the US re. these Hamers! I haven't sold much stuff in awhile so I was surprised at the response. Might have something to do with what's being sold! ; )
jettster Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 I feel your pain, we just put a new roof on a few months back. (Had massive hail damage that the insurance wouldn't cover.) Close to $9k after all was said and done. Good luck dude!!

Close to $9k after all was said and done. Good luck dude!! Ha Rodney! Same here (the hail damage thing)!! I fought them for a year and ...nothing. The house on 3 sides of us and many, many more in the neighborhood were replaced but I must have had our Star Trek Shields up or something!!
Jem Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 John,Just as info the finish is Granite. The Marble finish has blues and the odd tinge of red and has gold leaf between some of the rock's veins and on my '91 price list is twice the upcharge compared to Granite. Still, Granite ended up on a hell of a lot of Centaura's, and a few Chaps, but is just as rare as Marble on Cali's so this one should run well.Jem.

What was the upcharge for Granite? What did these things sell for back in the day? (why do I like saying that?!
morningstar Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Granite hides all sins.I had a Chapparal Sustainiac in granite and it had little dings, all hidden by the finish. I bought that one from Dean Koga (lurker measure1 -- still out there?). Wish I still had it.morningstar
cmatthes Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Granite (Black & White) was a standard finish on several models, some with no upcharge. I can check that out for you later on after consulting the archives (!!).Very cool guitars, John!
BubbaVO Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I'm eyeing that Chappy. But I'm just now getting out of the doghouse for buying the Taladega. Still, that's a good looking guitar. Hmmm....
ZR Posted December 16, 2007 Author Posted December 16, 2007 Alright folks, last chance, the auctions close today; just a few more hours. A USA Chap for around $225 right now...that's a steal! I'm interested to see where the Cali ends up. It's just under $1,100 right now.
Yeahmann Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 dang. . .missed the cali.. . i bid up to 2111.11 and still got outbid then didnt have time to put another bid in. The californian continues to be elusive for me.

She's a heavy hitter when it comes to Cali's ...Damn....
Yeahmann Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 "OK, for the last time...I will NOT ship outside the USA." direct quote from the sellerjust my luck they changed their mind and its going to Canada (. . i know . .i know . .but its technically outside the US)
Jem Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 $2136 for the Cali - that's absolutely f*cking insane....nice one John !
ZR Posted December 17, 2007 Author Posted December 17, 2007 I had so many emails with ppl pleading me to ship abroad; Russia, Spain, France etc. I told them I couldn't ship a broad because then I'd get busted for human trafficking! Thank you folks I'll be here at the Airport Holiday Inn all week! But, LadyScary's one of the cool sistas of the HFC. So, I decided to open it up to Canada on the last day. Some ppl told me they thought it would get a good price with the cool granite finish. I'm glad it at least stayed in the family. I know some ppl claim that some shredders (and some other guitars w/ Floyds) have an anemic, thin sound but Hamer must have known how to do it right on this one. The SD Parallel Axis PU may have something to do with it too. Anyway, this one sounds / plays great and I know she's gonna be happy!
LadyScary Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 I hope Mr.Scary loves his late Christmas present. or maybe i'll call it an early B-day present. or both. sorry guys! Didn't mean to kick your A$$es. oops!! Jem you forgot the 11 cents!!!
BadgerDave Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 I'm pretty sure that I used to own that one ( or one in the same finish that I added a concentric volume/tone control to). If it's my old one, it's one of the best sounding Cali's I've experienced. Had I known the price was going to go up by 200% in a year, I would have held on to it What the heck is going on with Calis all of a sudden anyway?
serial Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 LadyScary is Aces to deal with as well-congrats all around!
silentman Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 WTF? >2,000 for a non set neck, non-flame bodied cali? I couldn't give my elite away a few years back for <$600. Holy crap.

Holy crap.No offense to the buyer or seller, but if my wife told me she'd spent $2100+ for a bolt-on, no flame, Cali. for me I would be seriously p.... well, let's just say I wouldn't be very happy about it, new Cali. for Christmas, or not.
