specialk Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Great pix of a fine guitar! Congrats. Sometimes one really is in the right place at the right time.sk
cornjulio Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I wont have a chance to turn any screws till tomorrow but here's a first look at the Green machine. Sounds and plays so good. Amazing guitar! Very Clean, great color, just awesome!!! Well done...
cmatthes Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Wow - you scored! That's probably my favorite non-graphic Sunburst out there.
hamertek98 Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 WOWZIE! Congrats again! Gotta love those handshakes in parking lots...
iownit4 Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 great score, I have 1 with a thin ner neck ,it's beat up though........ enjoy ROB NYC
Hamerphite Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Rob NYC that one looks really great. I like the red I think my Green one doesn't have a flipped pickup. Maybe I'm wrong. What do you guys think? There isn't enough room in the pickup wire from the control cavity to turn the pickup around.
kizanski Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 The screw side (the creme bobbin on that pickup) goes toward the fingerboard, so yes, it's flipped.
Lockbody Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Is it just a trick of the camera view, or is the pickup selector out of place? Shouldn't it be between the blades?

As soon as I read your post and looked at the pic again, I saw it "right".Oh, b*tchn' guitar, mang!
serial Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Serial is 0 1638. It took me a while to see it, but now I see that the back and sides are a very dark Green, which looks perfectly uniform under a black light - though the back of the neck is just slightly more faded than the body, as usual, and so appears oh so slightly more green. What a cool guitar! Aside from checking and a few dings, the guitar is really quite clean. NICE score!! It's actually #0 1639 and is logged in as "blue/green top" Sunburst on April 19, 1980.

David B Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 That is absolutely killer. I have a serious weakness for the early 80's green they did. They look killer when they fade too.I'd find someway to flip that pickup around.Awesome score!
belgian Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Do you realise you just did the deal of the year ?????
atquinn Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Do you realise you just did the deal of the year ?????How quickly people forget the $550 Watson *shakes head*. Anyway, nice guitar!-Austin
