Other than the new stuff Suhr was showing (none of which I can afford ), I was pretty bored by everything I've seen. Just as well given the current economic state we're in I suppose. -Austin

The one thing that stood out (for me) was that there seemed to be a level of cooperation between dealers and manufacturers which I had not seen at previous NAMM shows.The overall vibe seemed to be "hey the economy sucks, so what can we do together to get things happening again?"That said, if you really look closely, there is always someone,. or something new just under the radar (and usually in Hall E...LOL).For me, this year it was found in a small booth in Hall E and it was a guy named Joe with a company named Joe Co.He has a single rack space 24 track 96khz recorder for under 2K. It has no drive. I has USB 2 ports and can record to basically any external 7200rpm USB2 drive.You can even stack up to four of these.http://www.joeco.co.uk/main/VSCR1_Summary.php

I hope to send back a report from Musik Messe as well. those asher lap steels look so cool! Yeah, normally a lap steel would not catch my attention. These however really caught my eye. They looked great in person, though I never did get a chance to come back and give them a try.
