petedz Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Anybody know what kind of (synth) connector that is? Doesn't look like any of the Roland stuff I've seen....
Rhys Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 It's one of the old Roland GR300/GR700 compatible connectors. The cables are really hard to find & bloody expensive if you do find one.
paults Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 The compatible cable typically goes for $175 to $200. And, then, you'll need an old compatible Roland guitar synth on the other end of the cable. Figure at least another $300 for something like that. Most of the Hamer/Roland compatible guitars are the Phantom A7 model. It was a regular catalog item for a couple of years. I've had several of those, and currently have two nice ones (and one absolute wreck). When they made the SS1/Roland compatible guitars for Steve Stevens, they also made some "extras", and sold them to select dealers. I saw another one of these when they were new in Pittsburgh that was owned by someone who worked there. His was a metallic violet, I think.
carfish7 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Changed bridge pickup? Very cool piece indeed! "Plays like melted butter" Z
paults Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Changed bridge pickup? Very cool piece indeed! "Plays like melted butter" Z I think so, unless it was ordered that way.
carfish7 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 It appears that I do, too Good luck, man. That color is REALLY cool! Z
Jason01 Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 How come this one doesn't appear to have the two little silver "buttons" like the a7's do?
Chi Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Sweet. None of those knobs are the plastic ones that usually came with the SS guitars tho...Sweet color!
paults Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 How come this one doesn't appear to have the two little silver "buttons" like the a7's do?They are there - on the sides of the humbucker ring.
HAMERMAN Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Wow Paults - good luck with the auction. I immediately thought of you when I saw the pics!
