bizzwriter Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I'm curious to see what the auction ends at. I contacted the seller earlier this week and he is hoping to get at least $900. The ways things have been going lately, he'll be lucky to get more than $800. I'm sure there will be some last-minute sniping on this one...
specialk Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 [i'm sure there will be some last-minute sniping on this one... One hour to go and standing at $520. I think you're right,

HoboMan Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Still cheap with 5 minutes to go..... Anyone here trying for it?I was the highest bidder at $550 with 3 seconds to go.Somebody beat me at $560.$610 with shipping.Someone got a GREAT deal.
Pieman Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 That's like a 25th Anniversary, no. And they go for $700-800. I'd hate to sell lmy Artist Custom in this market.
gtone Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Pre-Christmas market weakness, I suppose... Seller maybe shoulda opened bidding up for int'l to increase exposure.
bubs_42 Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Worst time of the year to sell a guitar, but the best time to buy.
GaryT Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 GC gives more than that buying used gear. Definatly on trade ins.
hamerrocks Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 That is an amazing deal! Ouch to the seller. I wish I had seen this thread earlier. I would have bid. A buyer's market for sure. I wish Hamers in general had a better resale value. But I do not intend on ever selling any of my 4 Hamers. i can always pass them on to my kids when they need them and I have arthritis or something.
gorch Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 No hammer value for a Hamer though.Honestly, I thought he could have better advertised this one. Red guitar on red background doesn't drive emotions whatsoever. Minimal text, no story doesn't drive the price either. He'd better taken a photography lesson with Greg before.

I have an Artist Custom to sell but I'm now a bit wary since the market is...uh....soft. Might have to wait until next year sometime. ah well.
gwayne Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Hudpucker, I have lusted after that Artist of yours since I first saw it. I had saved a pic of it in case I ever did another custom order as I wanted it in THAT color. I honestly can't believe it didn't sell a couple of weeks back. IF I didn't have so many home projects going on right now I would be ALL OVER it. Maybe when you're ready to sell again things will be better on my end.

I still can't believe that I'm actually looking to sell it! It's such a beautiful and killer sounding instrument. I just wish it were a bit thinner-necked. If only....
