RoyB Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Here's a few photos of Scott's pride and joy that he has been working on for the last two years. First is the prototype of the RS Stealth And here is the first production model we just painted today. Feedback needed, so what say ya?
marcnorth Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I say it looks good, what's the bass with the v headstock hanging under it?
marcnorth Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I like that, is that one yours or for sale?
Feynman Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Hmmm - I'm not feeling this one, but I can't really think of any feedback.Maybe with a different color and some binding and some trons and a Bigsby I'd dig it.Rising Sun perhaps?I'm not manly enough to be the target market for this one anyway, so you can probably take my lukewarmness as a good sign.
seeker Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I like the shape, but would suggest slimming it up a bit. The hazards of being stuck indoors with access to Photoshop. Sorta what I mean:
Guitarseh Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I'm digging the fretboard dots, and the shape is a nice twist on the Explorer/Standard thing, without going all backwards V on us I like the prototype color better than the gold, but that's just my issue. Mark B
BubbaVO Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I like it. Very cool twist. Gives off the vibe, but its not the same ol' same ol'.Love the headstock. And that git is going to look great in a shimmery white pearl. The gold and blue are sharp. That wraptail bridge is perfect. What's the fretboard made of? Is the neck a set neck or a bolt on? What are the dimensions? Ever going to make a maple neck? How does it feel with the pup selecter where it is? Any plans to put a thin maple top on it?
RoyB Posted February 11, 2010 Author Posted February 11, 2010 Love the headstock. Thanks And that git is going to look great in a shimmery white pearl. That's a thought. The gold and blue are sharp. That's silver pearl not blue What's the fretboard made of? Ebony Is the neck a set neck or a bolt on? Set neck What are the dimensions? Of what part? Ever going to make a maple neck? Don't know yet. How does it feel with the pup selecter where it is? amazing because it takes no effort to switch it Any plans to put a thin maple top on it? Not at this time because the top geometry is so complicated. There is a solid korina (white linba) one in the works though. I like the shape, but would suggest slimming it up a bit. The hazards of being stuck indoors with access to Photoshop. Sorta what I mean: If you see the guitar in persona and play it it does not need slimming because it's a very comfortable shape as is.
BubbaVO Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Dimensions - sorry...of the neck. slim, chunky, tapered, wolfgang style?
RoyB Posted February 11, 2010 Author Posted February 11, 2010 Dimensions - sorry...of the neck. slim, chunky, tapered, wolfgang style? On these two about the same as a Hamer Vintage shape, so a bit chunky, but not a ball bat, but we also have a 60s style slim shape. It's a 25" scale with a 10" radius.
murkat Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 creme binding with double cremes and chrome hardware.... oh my
burningyen Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Looks cool! It would probably look cool as a flattop too.
anotherfreak Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 so is the strat in the upper right side a re-finish or a house build? I have always loved that color!!
gorch Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 It looks like it is going to be a great guitar model. I'm sure it is radar invisible though. Congrats! Are the strings going straight over the nut to the tuners? If so I think it would work great with a trem, not necessarily locking.
RoyB Posted February 11, 2010 Author Posted February 11, 2010 I like that, is that one yours or for sale? It's my personal bass, but there will be one very close to it as a model coming soon. creme binding with double cremes and chrome hardware.... oh my with the guitars side profile the the geometric bevels that are on the top and back of the body I don't think binding is even possible, but it would look cool. Looks cool! It would probably look cool as a flattop too. There may be a flat topped bold on version. so is the strat in the upper right side a re-finish or a house build? I have always loved that color!! It's an old friend that we are building. It looks like it is going to be a great guitar model. I'm sure it is radar invisible though. Congrats! Are the strings going straight over the nut to the tuners? If so I think it would work great with a trem, not necessarily locking. It it were flat black there's no way it would show up with all these bevels The strings are straight at the headstock and we are programing a floyd version right now.

straightblues Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 That is looking really sweet to me. What is the pricepoint going to be for a Korina one?
RoyB Posted February 20, 2010 Author Posted February 20, 2010 Well there are a lot of new guitars in the works here at RS and I wanted to share some in the works. First is RS first set neck bass (to be names later) that is a hybrid between a Thunderbird and a RS artist. Next is a few new set neck Stepside Custom A guitar we call the SV-2 This next one is the second of it's kind we call a Solarflair The original Solarflair was called "The Admiral" and was built for Joe Perry Plus there are a bunch of new Old Friend series guitars in the works Another new guitar is called the Old School and lastly the newest Stealth made for white limba
GaryT Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Have to tell you Roy, I like every thing I've seen you post by RS so far. But this one? I don't know, just something about it. If the top horn was the same as the bottom? I just feel it sould be more asymmetrical. But hey thats one opinion. But theres a lot I DO like about it.

The Stealth is not my design, but I've played the guitar a lot and I'll say this I would not change a thing on it because sitting or standing it's the most comfortable well balanced guitar I have ever seen.
