esquared Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 No affiliation.Craigslist VectorLooks cool and is an esquire, but the pic is crappy.
zenmindbeginner Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 The seller doesn't know the difference between a Floyd Rose and a Kahler. The usual dead giveaway that the seller doesn't know shit about guitars and is probably just flipping it.It's the K.K. Downing model and someone could get an AMAZING bargain because the seller has no idea what he has.If someone calls this guy, do NOT tell him that it is the K.K. Downing vector, he could have found that out with just a few clicks of a mouse and was too lazy. Let him suffer.
atquinn Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Wish I still lived in Madison, WI. Damn!-Austin
esquared Posted February 12, 2010 Author Posted February 12, 2010 The seller got back to me and it is gone already... Damn!
hamerhead Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Yeah, it's at my house. It's an '84, and looks to be all original (haven't looked inside yet). Even has the whammy bar!! It has some buckle rash and nicks on the back, but the front looks real nice. Super lightwieght, good frets, nice size neck, and the case is decent, too. I wasn't sure it was a KK model. What's the difference between it and a regular Vector (I don't know Vectors very well)? This is my first Vee, so we'll see if it fits. If not, well...what's the going rate on these?
esquared Posted February 12, 2010 Author Posted February 12, 2010 Great score... now put up some pics, please.

hamerhead Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Ok!! Here's some quick ones: I haven't even put a rag to it yet - that's how I got it (note the strings wound backwards). How'd I do??
Jem Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Yeah, it's at my house. I wasn't sure it was a KK model. What's the difference between it and a regular Vector (I don't know Vectors very well)? Not exactly my specialist subject either but: Maple veneer top with matching headstock Single humbucker with scratchplate (ok you lot, 'pickguard') Kahler as standard Cool score
cmatthes Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Pointy headstock v. the "Paddle" headstock used on production Vectors at the time.Single Volume control.
zenmindbeginner Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Are you gonna learn "Electric Eye" and start licking your new axe up and down the fretboard?
esquared Posted February 12, 2010 Author Posted February 12, 2010 I think I bid on this guitar a couple of years ago and IIRC it went for $650 so you did very good.I love the pointy heads!
zorrow Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 was it $350? very coolIf it was, it's a serious contender for "The Score of The Year" award.
