Feynman Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 So I've got a new guitar, and a new piece I'm trying to learn, so why not add in trying to learn to sync my audio recorder and webcam too?OK - I admit it's a crappy excuse to show off the pleasant sound of my new guitar.Don't hate - I just started this piece two days ago - this is most of page 1, sort of, if you blur your eyes a bit. Also, I have no idea why (yet), but the video is clipping along way faster than the audio. Maybe I can put that to good use and make a shred video.Don't mind my wife deciding to start the dryer as I pressed 'record,' or my daughter calling me from the yard for a critical event (Leo has white poop!).There's (obviously) no audio processing done on this, but I think it did a decent job of capturing the sound of this new little guitar o' mine.At least good for a laugh, or to see the stupid faces I make when I try to play.My first real music video...P.S. I have no shame.
Monacosis Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Don't mind my wife deciding to start the dryer as I pressed 'record,' or my daughter calling me from the yard for a critical event (Leo has white poop!).i'm pretty sure Kubrick had these issues as well in the early days.. very nice Mitch, Thanks!!mike
specialk Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Sweet, sweet tone you have there. It looks like you're playing your newest guitar, here.It sounds as purty as it looks, and you are a much better guitarist than you let on. Thanks for sharing!
harry65 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 rock on mitch , nothin prettier than nylon..............
carfish7 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Hmmm, kinda like watching a Godzilla movie with the disconnect between the audio and image, but the musical component was most enjoyable. Might I suggest a pair of sneakers to improve the low-end response of the accompanying dryer? Very nice playing, man! Thanks for sharing! Z
JGale Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 I like the part where you keep on playing after you get up and run away! You're no Ashlee Simpson, but you'll do.
Jeff R Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Great stuff ... lemme know when you do the "final" version of the performance so I can FedEx you a hip 70s tux jacket. It's all about The Look , you know.
BubbaVO Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 very cool...I liked the zmb1 video, too. especially around 6:00 mark... : ) just like my house....
Feynman Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 Ha! Thanks for the replies, everyone. I was just anxious to have someone else hear this guitar, so I was prepared to release crap just to make it happen. I think this guitar's tone is quite charming, though it still needs some love to bring back to full health. I'll work on completing the piece and figuring out my video issues. I'll try to make a new video if I ever get through that. You folks are the best!
BlueRedWhite Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Awesome playing Mitch, and that guitars tone is beautiful!!i laugh a lot with the vid, so the audio recorder is the little blipping thing??what's the camera??
kenjones Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Also, I have no idea why (yet), but the video is clipping along way faster than the audio. Maybe I can put that to good use and make a shred video.Make sure your webcam and separate audio recorder are both recording at the same frame & bit rate. The settings will look something like this: 24-bit, 48 kHz, 29.97 FPS
burningyen Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Yeah, looks like a frame rate issue. Nice sound!
