coolfeel Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Yah, I think I have seen this dude playing it on youtube. It is cool but definately not a Virtuoso like we have come to know. The truss rod cover says "Custom" so maybe it is truly a one-off effort. I wonder who the original owner is and when it was produced?
robslobb Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 well I see the pics went through I am the original owner it was custom made for me modeled off the virt I did not like the virt body they are way too wide for my likeings so ya can call it what ya want ! it was custom made for me thats why it says custom on the plate this was not intended to be produced or sold to the public I was simply shareing with yall ! rock on !!
shredmeister Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Cool inlays. You gotta be shittin' me ! What the hell is that - I want it.
DarrenD Posted February 9, 2011 Author Posted February 9, 2011 Wow!The body looks different to the other virts. Did you personally custom order this back in the early 90s? Tell us the story!
MCChris Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Wow!The body looks different to the other virts. Did you personally custom order this back in the early 90s? Tell us the story! He did. 5 posts up.
Caddie Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I don't get the 36 fret thing. Is it like having an amp that goes to eleven? If I can't play it in the first 15 frets I just don't play it. Dirty Harrycaddie
DarrenD Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 Oops - don't know how I missed that. I actually like this body better than the regular virts. It's definitely one of a kind: body shape, inlays, and even a Kahler floyd. Thanks for sharing.
robslobb Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 well I am not at liberty to tell you all but lets just say I have a great friend that is the world,s best gutiar lukathier in the world as a great friend that worked at hamer never got the credit he derserved and he brought it home one piece at a time in his lunch bucket and made it for me !! it was built in 1990 I have owned it for over 20 year,s it is defiantly unique maybe it is not what ya call a virtuoso but to me it makes my heart come alive everytime I plug it in ! it has no serial # it is one of a kind for sure I certianly wish hamer made alot more like these for yall to enjoy !! If I told yall the whole story id have to kill ya !! rock on !
DarrenD Posted February 24, 2011 Author Posted February 24, 2011 BOOM! I've come across another one - located at some Japan shop. Looks like a different celestial and super clean. For sale too. Hamer trem, non-scalloped, maple neck, and I'm assuming the airbrush was by Jim O'Connor. Celestial Virtuoso
mc2 Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 Yeah....knew about that one. BTW....fingerboard IS scalloped. It's around $5,977 (shipped to U.S.) U.S. buckeroos for anyone interested. Not as cool as the other Celestial Virt with the yellow logo to go with the colors in it's celestial theme, IMO.As the U.S. dollar crumbles, I'm wondering where that currency conversion price will end up?
cmatthes Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 That makes three - possibly four - Celestial Virts that I know of. I didn't think there were that many, actually!
gerry Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 That makes three - possibly four - Celestial Virts that I know of. I didn't think there were that many, actually!i know only of two - never read or heard from 2 others. could you tell us more
cmatthes Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 I'll have to dig through the photo archives, but theres at least one more. The one I'm thinking about isn't yellowed like Jon's and doesn't have the large, Jupiter-looking planet in the same position behind the trem.
RacerX Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Damn, I'd love to park that celestial virt here at my house!
