I love the solo because he starts breaking into the "Rock Around the Clock" solo and you're thinking, "Is he really going there??" ...and Yes He Is!! Makes me giggle every time. 1 1 Quote

I remember the horror on Catie Couric's face on the Today Show when Danny told her he could remember hearing music in his crib. It was priceless. She had no idea she was in the presence of greatness. 2 Quote

Bill Aucoin had them and Piper in the late 70s. New England put out three good LPs before folding. Todd Rundgren produced the third one, it’s killer. (Hamer content) In ‘82-‘83 (or some such…), Jol and Paul took the Hamer traveling roadshow to selected prospective dealers around the US. The SoCal stop was at Hanich Music in my humble hometown of West Covina. The demo band was no other than (you guessed it) New England! They brought a bunch of Standards, Protos, Specials and multi-string basses. I was impressed at the variety/quality of the guitars and left with a very cool, full-color catalog. Hanich Music never did become an authorized Hamer dealer and didn’t make it to the 90s. Edited August 15, 2025 by RobB 2 Quote
