ib2010 Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Just curious , how many USA Futura's did Hamer crank out ???
BTMN Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 IIRC there are 29 RN Korina models from '96-'97.
cmatthes Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 There are a smaller number of non-RN Signature, USA built Korina Futuras. A limited run was done for KORG, Japan (the Jpns Hamer distributor) about 10-11 years ago too. The best catalog descriptions EVER! FEEL THE MELLOW GOLD!!!
anathemata Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Who wouldn't want to feel the mellow gold? That's hilarious.

ib2010 Posted October 16, 2012 Author Posted October 16, 2012 I could always use the "special gold sword, to strike any kind of music" i may project.
shankyboy Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I didn't realize that there were only 29. I have #22.
Hamerica Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted 06 August 2008 - 09:53 AM... I show the original run of the limited USA models were 36 guitars. Rick had a couple more made for some members of his road crew or as gifts, an HFC member had two made in some awesome colors, and I think there might have been another one or two on the side. On the Futuras themselves, Bill Kaman had one made pre-prototypes. There were I think five Prototypes, one which was infamous stolen out of a car Serial # 647216. Bill's and the prototypes were slightly different than the Rick Nielsens. Very, very rare and very cool. I have had the pleasure of playing at least 10 of Nielsens and some of the prototypes. bubs_42 Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 I dig them and I think they are perfectly fitting to be an RN Sig Model.
cmatthes Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Several of them were planted in the Korina Forest too, if I recall correctly...
FrettyMcgee Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Hilarious translation. Reminds me of a scene from NewsRadio where Jimmy James reads from his poorly translated english to Japanese back to english book: "I had a small house of brokerage on Wall Street... many days no business come to my hut... my hut... but Jimmy has fear? A thousand times no! I never doubted myself for a minute for I knew that my monkey strong bowels were girded with strength like the loins of a dragon ribboned with fat and the opulence of buffalo... dung. Glorious sunset of my heart was fading. Soon the super karate monkey death car would park in my space. But Jimmy has fancy plans... and pants to match. The monkey clown horrible karate round and yummy like cute small baby chick would beat the donkey."
Disturber Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 I remember when these were on ebay frequently, and didn't even sell for like 1300$. Those were the days for the buyer, (and I didn't buy, sucka).

I swear by my mothers panacota cake that I'm not telling a tale. Back around 2003 when I bought my Korina Standard from Germany I was scouting ebay for them in the US as well, and I also saw at least two Korina Futuras that went for silly cheap. I nearly pulled the trigger on one but I could not work out getting it shipped to Sweden.

One of my friends was looking for one and was waiting for them to go to a grand. I told him that the best deal I thought he ever was going to get was one on ebay that was brand new for $1,350. Seeing he was a Cheap Trick Fan and owned a few Hamers, if he wasn't going to pull the trigger, I was. That is all it took, he purchased it and he still has it. Otherwise, it would be in the Greater Southwest Korina Forest. However the neck through Impact is still IMHO the score of the decade. Every since Hamstd sniffed one out at the Dallas Guitar show years ago, I have been searching for one at the right price. They are out their folks! If it is meant to be, it will happen. Hamerica
Disturber Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 I told you so! Now I'm gonna finnish that panacota cake and keep a look out for a Futura.
