Well I located a Sustainblock so i'm moving forward with my next Phantom Redux. I'm looking for a fairly clean one, light players wear and tear is ok, but is must have good frets. No breaks or heavy damage.

With all the different versions what exactly are you looking for? Not the A5 or 7 I take it. The newer model that looks more like a prototype?

Hardtail? Which headstock?

Hamer only made 2 versions in the 90's/2000's. The Phantom (Prototype) with a TOM and a Phantom Custom with a Flame Maple Top. I do not want the custom, just the plan old Phantom.

I have this one. 1998. Very nice condition. Some surface wear. Good frets. Was my #1 for over a year. PM me if interested. Bought it from Bloozguy 4 years ago.

Those are nice but I always considered them more of a Prototype that was just called a Phantom due to Hamers consistent inconsistency...

Hell, thats nice though, bet it sounds killer

So you don't need one of these then...

O.K. please elaborate, are you manufacturing sustain blocks? If so, please provide all details and price.

I did and Bloozy you know if you made some i'd be first in line. I'll take 3 of them, one gold, one chrome and one black.

GOLD!!!!

Atta boy'! Although I hope to Christ you're not gonna refinish that sumbitch.

No way around it. I'd love to do a Burst Finish but the conversion doesn't allow it because I don't want to see the plugs. I had thought about TV Cream, or Pearl White, ect. I'm leaning toward sparkle again but no paisley.

I still miss that one. It's absolutely kick ass. Wish I'd never sold it!

I reverse engineered one of mine. If there's enough interest I'll have some made.

I'll add those to the list.

GOLD!!!!

Do you mean gold plated?

I'm thinking I might make up 10 each in chrome, gold and black.

Hmm, I have mixed emotions about modifing such a great looking stock guitar. I've been looking for a nice one of these for a while,

If it was a little more beat, I would say have at it.

That's just such a nice rare finish for one of those. But it's your guitar, have at it and enjoy. But rememeber all the nice early Gibsons

and Fenders that got the mods.

Cool Beans

My thoughts exactly, that is such a gorgeous guitar as-is.

It is not my fault that Hamer reissued these without the Sustainblock and that it would cost me $3000. Plus ordering one when the used ones are going between $600 and $700 bucks. I would have ordered one all Mahogany with Clear Blue Sparkle (BCRBlueSparkle) over it and a Sustainblock. This is my only choice plus it was owned once by an HFC'er that I respect his opinion on if a guitar sounds good or not.

I haven't seen a price yet, but you can mark me down for a chrome one if they ever become available.

Thank you

That sure is a nice looking Phantom - too bad you couldn't find one of the tv-yellow ones to refin (the world could stand a few less of those, and a few more like this one). Maybe your friendly luthier can blueprint this one and scratchbuild exactly what you want.

now that I mention it, not a bad idea. just sayin...

Bloozguy,

I'd be in for a chrome, or a black, or maybe one of each? With the caveat that the quality has to good. I don't know if any old machinist could get the saddles right - maybe some CNC or some handwork would be needed. Maybe post a thread in the forum and see how many folks would be interested. If you get enough buyers, maybe the costs would be reasonable.

If Two F**King Idiots in a Garage can do it anyone can. I have had originals, 2-fig's and Hamerhead Bridges and they are all very nice. It can be done and I highly doubt that a CNC touched an original SS Bridge. Ray and I have had this discussion a couple of time and it comes down to Material, Labor and demand. If he is going to make a run we should put our money where our mouth is and put deposits up before the run.

Jay is going to be busy.
