Question

I seem to recall seeing an early factory photo of a triple pick up standard..did one in fact exist?.

Is it owned by someone here?.

Thanks!

Michael.

Yes, Paul Hamer had a photo of it in his photo slide during the 1st Chicago gathering a few years ago. I think someone mentioned it made it to Europe and another is owned or was

owned by Ricky Nelson.

Ricky Nelson doesn't own any Hamers.

There's a few guys on here who could route out a middle position on a Standard Custom and make it look stock...

Just an idea...

Hamer also made a three PUP Standard for Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, with stars for the dot inlays, in the 80s.

If I am correct, Richie had those customized by Rod Schoepfer(?) in NJ..he had a couple of 4 digits, I believe

The Sambora Standard was for sale on Ebay around 2007-08 for about $18k if I remember correctly. Could have been even earlier.

I believe that is correct.

That's my recollection as well.

If Schoepfer did those mods, the middle humbucker sure fit in there just perfectly.

Yeah, it was for sale through that Rock Star guitars website maybe eight or ten years ago.

I had a couple of the late Rod Schoepfer basses from circa 1981-82. On those he had used Phil Kubicki made necks and other bolt-on bodies....did custom order configs and had Schoepfer name and date on headstock.

The PBass one was really nice but had a Precision width nut and I prefer narrower Jazz Bass widths. Was VERY played/relived/checked....very cool axe... Bound ebony fingerboard, heavily figured Birdseye maple neck. Ended up selling it to Mike Inez (Alice in Chains, Ozzy, Heart.)

Hamer also made this one. No stars, but it still is 4 digit goodness with an extra pickup and a Floyd added along for fun.

That.Is. Awesome!

I may be incorrect regarding Schoepfer..he may have done Richie's 3 Hum Les Paul w Kahler, not the Hamer?? Not sure...
