I feel weak.

I have a 2FIG plate around here somewhere, but it has no saddles. If I can find it, would that work for you?

Hey! That sounds great! Yes, please, I'd want it. Then I can maybe buy the armadillo bridge and use their saddles and it will be a close approximation. Please PM me to set a deal.

I'm pretty sure the chances of more being made our slim to none. No one is willing to pay what it would cost to produce a small run. So it would take some crazy guy a bunch of time to make a run, pay all the money up front for materials and basicly give them away at cost.

I reverse engineered one of the 2FIG sustain blocks and sent the part drawings out for quotations. I just need to get pricing for polishing and plating which I've been too busy to get done. I'll try to do that in the next week or so and post the results.

Hmm, let me encourage you to not make any. Here is my rationale. If you do, the cost will be so high I'll be reluctant to buy one, but probably will any way as I don't know when I'll get a another chance. Then, I'll have a sustain block sitting around needing a project ('cause I don't have a project for one currently). I won't be the only one that is put in this situation. So, there will be a bunch of us looking for projects in need of a sustain block and thus driving up the cost of old whammy'd specials and the like. So, we'll all over pay for formerly $350 Hamers. Once we are in that deep, we'll feel the need to go all out for the full Stike treatment. By the time, we get to full sparkle, we'll remember why Floyds were so cool in the 80's and send them all to Murkat for a Floyd install. At which point, we should have just pooled our resources and crowd funded the "new" Hamer.

I'll take two.

Don't even bother shipping them to me, send them straight to Shishkov

But seriously, I'll take two. If you need deposits let us know.

Now I don't have to make them. Great!

BTW Stonge, if I was revamping an Original Sunburst or Special I would sniff out a 2fig. They are great bridges and hard to tell apart from the original.

+1 Definitively need two of those.

Some serious thoughts. B)

I'm in for 2 Ray.

You do realize that for you they're $4,000 each, don't you?;)

And it will be the ONLY TWO you sell. ;)

Heck in a couple of years we will be able to 3D Print them at home for $20.

I deal with the 3D printer industry, and it is amazing to me how fast things are moving. Last time I was at 3D Systems I tried to put a Cube printer under my coat ;)

Now, here's my shameless plug...

I just bought a Stratasys Objet500 Connex3 multi-color, multi-material 3D printer. Should be installed next week.

Those are full size bicycle helmets on there...just for an idea of size/scale...

Well well well, so much for sending my files to QuickParts for prototyping! I'm gonna guess you have this for WORK, not at home (since I know what these bad boys run)!!

As for what all is happening already in Additive Manufacturing, they already do lots of metals, and carbon fiber (real carbon fiber). There's reasons every F1 shop is buying their own machines!

Well, I'll to go back to the main topic. :)

Thundernotes, did you find my plate? :)

In spite of that, I still would want two more chrome sustainblocks. Any chances to fund a run by Hamerhead together? We can use kickstarter for that!

I would be very interested, as well. I think it would be more effective to determine:

1. if Hamerhead is even interested in doing this at any price and

2. what price point and part count makes a batch feasible to him

I point to Bubs reimagined / reconfigured Phantoms as my inspiration! It's as someone else was saying last week or so, used Hamers reconfigured by NTL are the new custom shop (or words to that effect).

Yeah, I'm actually planning a project that needs a sustainblock, boomers and a Hamer stadium logo, but instead of "USA" it should say "NOT". :) The remaining features are all very simple and aren't worth mentioning. I'll start shopping around for a builder very soon, but I need its effing sustainblock bridge first!
