Scarabaeus Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 I used to have a Guild X-79 about 8-9 years ago. It was SUPER heavy at the headstock. You strap it on and the headstock instantly went to the floor. You could not even play it. I tried different straps, but it pulled on the skin on my shoulders and neck, and was extremely uncomfortable. I returned it immediately as an unplayable guitar.$800-$900 seems a bit steep. I think mine was around $350-$400, with a huge heavy case.
Scooter Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 I LOVE the graphic 80's guitars. I remember drooling over the Klein Kramers and the wickedly cool Jacksons "back in the day". I currently own 3 graphic axes, 2 Kramers and one ESP.There's a couple graphic Hamers out there that make me weak in the knees!
Jeff R Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 World War II fighter plane graphics, bullet holes and rust stains included...
Jimbilly Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Those bullet holes are cool, except that wwII planes were aluminum and the rust would be more white, -but that's a very fine point
Jeff R Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Yeah, I also wonder how well bright red and bright blue camo hides you from the enemy haha
Stike Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Okay so it's a hardtail but it's still pretty graphic.
Mobster Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 There it is again, one of the nicest Chaps around!
Tres Aardvarks Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 that IS one of the nicest Chaps aroundwow! yeah, you can't see the chips of paint missing on the top side. She's still my baby, although I did manage to break a damn string playing her last week. Seeing as how I almsot enver break 'em, I think she was voicing her need for new ones and a cleanup. BTW, Stikey, I'd love to see a post with all the cool guit fins you've done. You da man!
SteveB Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 There it is again, one of the nicest Chaps around! Yeah, that was happy to be rescued from the basement of Wedgles Pawn and Music in Denver. It was sitting with the hundreds of other guitars that they never will sell because they don't actually display any of them.

Guest JackButler Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 Thank you very much Sir Greg! I'll have to go back and play with things and see if I can figure it out. Blonde and technically challenged is no way to go through life!
Ryan07 Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 I saw this one on ebay a few months back. I didn't go for very much. I'm seriously kicking myself for not picking it up. I've never played a Jackson but robots are irresistible.
Guest cruster Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 Pinging JeffR: Here's the ground attack version of your shredder: http://www.mattsmusic.com/ranger.htm
BTMN Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 Bottom of the price range for Shredder style guitars but I like it.
virtual Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 Stike's tele says, "Some people NEED killin'."*I love that WWII Jackson.* EK quote.
