The Ted Stevenson build is progressing nicely! Ted sent these last night! The maple he had laying around for 25 (possibly more) years. Freakin' gorgeous! One might say that wood is giving me wood. :P

What’s the deal with the channels in the neck? Are there tenons built into the body for a set-neck?

Sort of. It will eventually look like this.

Interesting neck joint.  It's funny how once I got a guitar with the spoke wheel adjustment, the other styles seemed antiquated and such a pain.

Yeah, I definitely prefer spoke wheel! That said, I have another build being done by a gent in NJ who almost refuses to do spoke wheels because of the impact to the aesthetics of the the heel of the fret board. 🤔🙄

I don't remember who it was, but I saw a photo of a guitar with a spoke wheel with a cover over it.  Also, Warmoth has that side adjust one though I've never seen it  in person.

Sounds cool!  The picture though just reinforces my disdain for the relic thing.

I also hate new stuff that gets the relic treatment.

I'd rather it come from me after many years of daily use.

Yeah, imagine anything else where they did that and called it "mojo".  House, car, motorcycle, computer, cabinets, drywall, etc.

Imagine someone marketing relic's drywall 😂😂😂😂😂.

I did an install at a very exclusive establishment in NYC several years ago, and the architect specified acoustical concrete.

Yeah guess what.

Concrete my ass, it was an Awful sounding room.

Playing a super strat without a whammy is like eating food without swallowing.

While I would be inclined to whole heartedly agree, Jake E Lee comes to mind as an exception to the rule. ;)

Oh bay-beee! My Ted Stevenson got paint this past weekend!

Purple metal flake. Hmm. I wonder where the inspiration for that could have come from?  ;)

I hope you don't relic that beautiful paint!!! That is about as cool of guitar color I've ever seen. I gave my son a Charvel with a similar color but not anywhere near that deep and sparkly. Love it!!

Absolutely NOT gonna relic it. :) In some earlier posts, I made it clear  that I'm not a fan of relic-ing for several reasons. So, yeah, this is gonna get relic-ed the old fashioned way- through years of use and abuse. ;)
