velorush Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Sorry, it was a joke. His birth name is Ha'Sean Treshon Clinton-Dix, but pretty much everyone knows him as "Ha Ha." He played for Alabama, was the Packers' first-round draft pick in 2014 and is a terror to pretty much any opposing team's offense. Fun to watch! 1 Quote

diablo175 Posted June 19, 2016 Author Posted June 19, 2016 Pick up swap time! The Godzilla Cali's EMGs are coming out in favor of some passives. The SD Alt 8 in my Charvel CS Star is a tad too hot and might do well in the G-Cali with a 250K. The erstwhile Alt 8 in the Charvel will be replaced by a SD Perpetual Burn and remain on a 500K pot. gorch Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Wonderful! The guitar is going to look really great. Quote
DBraz Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 What a superb original idea Jim. Really well executed. Quote
scottcald Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) That's cool. I hope you have the time/patience to paint the words over the pickups and the black Floyd that'll go in there. Oh, and over the trem cavity cover. Edited June 23, 2016 by scottcald Added over trem cover Quote

Bought Kurtsstuff's Cali Std. back in Dec (?) and spec-ed the neck in Feb. The refinish was sent out a week ago or so. Once I get it it set up, it'll have been 6 months and change. Quote

If I was doing that, it'd be 2019 before it got finished 2 Quote
diablo175 Posted June 24, 2016 Author Posted June 24, 2016 The body ships back on Monday, the PMS hardware will arrive before the body. If all goes according to plan, she should be put together and operational by the weekend! Quote
diablo175 Posted July 21, 2016 Author Posted July 21, 2016 (edited) Having successfully completed the HA Cali, I have turned my attention to a few lingering items I've wanted to address and have put off for far too long. Not the least of which is the LP Axcess that, at lead volume, shrieked like a banshee, with feedback. At Murkat's beckoning, I sent the wayward Murkat Special back to him and he repaired the mis-spec-ed p'up. I popped it back in and strung her up and she sings real purdy now. Damned fine p'up, Mr. Kolanda! Mighty fine in that 'hog Lester. The next project in queue was the Godzilla Cali. Nothing wrong with it... other than the EMG 81/SA in there. Yuck. Decided to put a right proper passive set in so, along with my go-to neck p'up, the SD Hot Rails, I dropped in a nice thick 'n' chunky SD Pegasus. I'm finishing up the soldering tomorrow am but everything's coming together nicely thus far. I put a Pegasus in my purple LE and while it's supposedly for "new metal", to my ears (and thru my rig) it has nice warmth, clarity and definition without the sludge and/or scooping. Beefy lil' critter for those wishing to try one out. The last project that I'll be tackling this week is the Jackson Dinky Rev. Putting on a new locking nut and trem as well as a new set of Dimarzio's <GASP> "What?" you exclaim! "Why the switch to Dimarzios after years and years of faithful Duncan loyalty?" Because I can, folks. LOL Why not? The Liquifire and Crunch Lab set were good enough for John Petrucci at one point. Curious to hear them on a 500K pot, in a basswood Dinky w/ maple neck/board. If it passes muster, I'll likely drop a toggle in there and eventually give it some proper garish finish and tie it into the hue of the p'ups. Edited July 21, 2016 by diablo175 Quote
