it's me HHB Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 I can grab this in the morning for less than a new distortion pedal. Comes with ohsc and some kind of no name amp. Its the black artist " jr " with no binding. Lots of room to flip if the condition is good or keep if it gets my jr high self excited
cmatthes Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 I personally like those guitars. If you can find one that weighs less than 12 lbs, it's an added bonus!
hanspanzer Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 It`s probably an AR-30 as the AR-50 has binding. Nevertheless: Great guitars but often quite neck heavy..
RobB Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Good era for Ibanez. Cost of a stomp box with an included amp? No-brainer.
Steve Haynie Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 I had one in high school. Like a fool I traded "up" to a Gibson SG with a Bigsby. It was regrettable. The cheap Artist can still be good. Take a chance on it.
Biz Prof Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Here's one for sale via Raleigh CL that looks cool, but in my mind, is priced well above the market. \http://raleigh.craigslist.org/msg/5704643645.html
tomteriffic Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Sleepers that punch way above their weight (which sometimes was considerable). Definitely worth the grab.

In college I had an Artist AR150BK with the trem. Sold it to my bandmate who still has it and loves it. It did feel neck heavy on a strap due to the horns being of equal length.
it's me HHB Posted September 30, 2016 Author Posted September 30, 2016 Well I got it and an old Univox ss 112 for 150. It appears to be a 78 does feel slightly neck heavy but reminds me of a sunburst it hang and feel. Weights less than others report but still in the Lester weight class. Looks all original in decent but played shape. The frets while dirty are pristine as to wear. Maybe this guy just posed lol. Its got dings and wear on back but frets are like new! It has finish seperation around the neck joint but its solid as a rock. I wonder if it realky has a birch neck? Its clearly 3 pieces as is the top as seen through the settled finish. It has a nice spank to it some lesters lack .The neck is really wide and not uber thin, I kinda love it and plugged into my 78 deluxe reverb I feel like a sophmore! Im keepin this thing
it's me HHB Posted September 30, 2016 Author Posted September 30, 2016 Ok it is an ar30 not 50. Japanese ash says the net so far. Whatever it is I really like it.
it's me HHB Posted September 30, 2016 Author Posted September 30, 2016 Black. The LP special of the line. Loving the wide neck, going to move the strap button to back
MCChris Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 3 knobs and 3 switches? You got yourself a deal. If the pups don't do it for you, ping Josh Gravelin.
it's me HHB Posted September 30, 2016 Author Posted September 30, 2016 No normal LP layout 4 knobs I toggle on upper horn
it's me HHB Posted September 30, 2016 Author Posted September 30, 2016 Exactly like that. It really rings like a bell and sounds great. Cleaned up all the grunge and strung it w 11s. Straightened truss rod and it plays like butter!. Moving strap button to SG location for better hang
Steve Haynie Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 When you get tired of it let me know. Semi-dibs.
JohnnyB Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 1 hour ago, it's me HHB said: Moving strap button to SG location for better hang Good call. No neck dive here:
it's me HHB Posted October 1, 2016 Author Posted October 1, 2016 It so solid. Truss rod works beautifully no humps. Fret ends amazing, this guitar is like a les paul standard meets LP jr with the unbound neck ( fuck nibs ) and dual buckers and ridiculous top carve( dish is too limiting a description lol )

it's me HHB Posted October 1, 2016 Author Posted October 1, 2016 It actually is very ergonomonic for me. I switched the strap button to SG position and am 1000% more comfortable. Zero neck dive hangs right there. Changed the giant yellow speed knobs out for some small rosewoods I had. This thing is going to the pit next week for Beehive, the 60s Musical
