Even an inlay on the 27th fret

Well...that part does look ridiculous on this particular specimen, to my opinion. Other than that, this ridiculous price make me happy :)

They did the same thing on the Watson. Interesting touch.

I prefer boomers, personally, as they are more "Hamer".

Still, would *love* to land one like this.

(Or just order a Shishkov Super C...  : )

Am I the only one that thinks all maple guitars all sound like shit.  Bright with a funky mid.  JMHO.

Don't get me wrong.  It's a beautiful guitar.

Probably not the only one, but some of my best guitars are all maple.  And my best Hamer.  At best you have to assess it case by case, even my all maple Hamers have sounded different, weighed vastly different.

Yeah, I think there is something to that observation again JMHO.

My friend Buddy Whittington has a Gibson with a Maple Top that he has tried to bond with and he just can’t.  It’s not completely a horrible tone just meh.

Rock Hard Maple Necks seem okay.  Never had a problem with the tone there and had several Hamers over the years.

Maple body’s on acoustic guitars seem okay.

Something happens when you add electronics to electric versions.

The quilt reminds me of the Max Chap Basses series.

I would have bet good money you'd say, "Ewwww. Blade switch. Nope."

It appears you would've lost that bet, just like the KC Chiefs are gonna lose the Superbowl. ;)

Heh. Chiefs gonna get this one.

A friendly bet, then?

Philly wins and you have to buy the Virt.

KC wins I'll give you first dibs on my Cali custom and 100 bucks off when I sell it. :P

With no disrespect to anyone who likes or owns one, I always thought the same as you about All Maple guitars and basses too.

I Do like Maple caps on Mahogany though, and I also don't mind necks made of maple.

Got several mapled calis. And only two sounded really bright and glassy. On one of them swapped the pu for SuperV, that Josh built for me based on  SuperDist only a bit modern with slightly  darker side. On the other one decided not to mess with electronics to keep it factory.
I guess back then they just slapped the same set on all of them. But what works on mah sometimes doesn’t on maple. With such a wide range of PUs built today , you can compensate the sound any way you want.

Wow!....all I got....WOW!! Even an inlay on the 27th fret

Are you sure that the thing on the 27th fret isn't a toenail clipping?

I think that the logo curling around the side of the headstock is cool, though.

BTW, got a question, that might be interesting for some of us here. Once in a while I put something on ebay, but in most cases it sells outside of it. Some time ago the deal ( at least on ebay, but I'm guessing on other platforms too) was - $20,000 in sales with 200 sales in total you didn't have to declare, and only after that you have to declare it on your income tax. Now ebay has this thing, where if your sales are above $600, they ask for your SS# and send  you some form at the end of the year. So, are you supposed to declare this as your income? Anyone done that?

Reverb has the same deal as well..I no longer use either one. Not totally because of that but, most buyers on those sites seem to think they are shopping at Musicians Friend or Sweetwater. Too many wanting to return things because "Not what they were hoping it would be" Whatever the hell that means :(
