Isn't $1,250 pretty reasonable for one of these?  OTOH, pick a knob type and go with that.

They are beautiful guitars, I love mine..price seems pretty fair if in good shape, and of course you've got a time period with Guitar Center to bring it back if you don't like it

Keep in mind that for “vintage” items GC only gives you 3 days to return , other used items get 45 days.

1999 is Vintage?  Good grief I'm old!

1964 is what? Antediluvian? Primordial? Fossilesque?

If I wasn't paying on a guitar and a credit card I'd grab it in a second. Mine had a slender neck but some are more medium; no way they'd measure it for me but at least I could send it back if it's wrong. I wonder what happened to the case I wonder? I have an artist with a maple top but someone did a lot of poor work on it and I think it's borderline as far as a neck reset.

Guitar Center will ship between stores for free, so you can have it sent to the store closest to you and just go in and get it, and go in and return it if it comes to that, rather than having to ship back

Where does it say "no case?"

They usually list case down in the description section.  If it's not listed, usually not included. Doesn't mean it's 100% though and someone could call in to see if they have it or another one sitting around.

Yes, you are correct... guitar does NOT come with case but offered $30 off of a $149 case... I told him to pack sand 🤣

If anyone is interested, I would certainly call the store and see if it has a case. They are really bad at listing stuff. I always call to check things to see if it they come with a power supply or original box etc. Listings are never accurate.

I've tried that and they still charge me shipping. They must like you!

I only did it once, from Florida to minneapolis, but I asked and they came back and said yes :-)

Shipping purchase from SF GC to east coast store recently was not free but at $29 was close enough.

I just paid GC $23.14 for shipping from Minnesota (I think) to FL on a 45 day return "Great" Custom 1988 Crimson Red Chaparral,

Rosewood fretboard,

Reverse headstock,

2 OBLs, middle Hot rail (maybe Sustainiac!?!) with case (OHSC please!) that looked in awesome condition.

I think it is listed as Custom because of the Flame Maple body. No pictures of back so just hoping!!!

I decided it was worth a $23.14 gamble as it looks pristine.

The price was too good to not gamble $23.14 in shipping!

May the Guitar Gods smile on me!

Suggestion, make sure about that 45-day return in case you haven't already confirmed it. My impression was that "vintage" returns are limited to 72 hours as @P Franco mentioned above.

It wasn't marked as Vintage, but I will verify when I pick up.
Thanks for the advice! You can never be too careful.
Weird thing is I can't find a picture of it anywhere.
I've been searching Google for hours.
Will put the black light to it and verify pots.
The SN looked real enough but will post pics here for advice.
Thank you!

45 day return.

SN 820240

It appears to be real. Black light correct for body,  head stock, back of head stock.

Correct truss rod. Not the foreign sunk in past nut.

The body is one piece maple but it is 1.5 thick instead of 1.75 inches.

Pots are Hamer year 87.

R1378731 hard to read in picture

It has german Floyd Rose.

Shaped Hamer USA case.

Any insight is welcome.

Plays and sounds great. Someone sanded neck for bare wood. May have Nitro sprayed back on.

Thank you!

Martin
