BruceM Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 Wow, what a great party. We're winding down from dinner and the jam (and the beer) and getting ready to go to the brewery and then off to Bernard's band performance. Here's a few early photos: Conrad, our master of ceremonies Gabe tries out the new Talladega Money Shot! OK...off to the brewery. More later...

tomteriffic Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 What Chris said, talk about the Hamer goodwill ambassador!Man that looks like it was a riot!+1 for names with faces.
BTMN Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Yeah man. That right there is 10 of the GOOD things about the internet. Bruce and now Conrad have elevated the bar. Thank you. What a great looking bunch of guitars. Oh yeah the players too. To bad none of the english contingent seems to have made it. Ahh, Life IS Good!
sw686blue Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Gabe tries out the new Talladega Give us a tone report on the Talladega.
BruceM Posted May 13, 2007 Author Posted May 13, 2007 Wow, what a day. I'm well rested now, so here's a few more photos from yesterday's jam and last night's rock show. What a great bunch of guys. What really impresses me is the way they all slip effortlessly from one language to another to accommodate ME. Here's the group shot, with names: From left to right: Koen (Hamer dealer near Brussels, great fill-in drummer!) Gabe Koen (also from near Brussels, doesn't post much yet, but I'm sure he'll join in soon) Bernard Yours truly Jeroen Conrad These guys were all great fun to play with, and quickly learned all my 3-chord anthems. I'll post some brewery tour photos on another thread. I've learned that there's nothing better than to be related to the brewer, or to be a good friend of a relative of a brewer.
BruceM Posted May 13, 2007 Author Posted May 13, 2007 Here's a few more. Unfortunately, I didn't get a lot of action photos of the jam, because I was jammin'! There were a few other cameras around, so hopefully we'll get a few more action shots. Bernard seems to be a natural poseur. Here he demonstrates the first rule of posing (always know where the camera is!). Jeroen models the new Talledega. This guitar showed up in Belgium the night before the jam, thank goodness! This one's for your wife, Jeroen. Hopefully she'll understand that you really DO need a V!!! Finally, here's a few photos assembling the guitars for the Money Shot. It took awhile to get all these out in the yard.
BruceM Posted May 13, 2007 Author Posted May 13, 2007 After the brewery tour, we headed out to the seashore for my first glimpse of the North Sea, at sunset. This was taken in Ostend, where we traveled to see Bernard's band at Foley's Irish Pub. As you will see by the photos, this man works his a** off to deliver a rock and roll show! Bernard's band, Spellband, is a family affair, with his wife on percussion and brother on drums. I really liked the lead guitar player, but you've got to get this guy a Standard, Bernard! Don't sell the white special...it's total Rock and Roll. See? Of course, Bernard also made it out to the audience to pose with the Hamer Fan Club. We became semi-famous in the bar, with all the patrons whispering "Who are those guys?" At least, that's what I imagined they were whispering. We ultimately decided that it's kind of geeky when everyone's got the same t-shirt on. Price of admission. Bernard continues to work the crowd mercilessly. Even I couldn't resist. We were like pawns in his chess game, and by the end of the evening, he had the whole bar singing along to Simple Minds. "THANK YOU!" And finally, Jeroen and I demonstrate the importance of hats.
belgian Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Pics from preparation & jam: Bruce at work Grilling the chicken Jeroen got his birthday cake Dutch contignent - Gabe & Jeroen The place was just a little to small for all the stuff and players
BCR Greg Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Ain't the internet GRAND? I think Gabe is wearing a Happy Face mask! Every pic he is just beaming! My favorite pic is this.. THAT's a kitchen, right there! And that Bruce looks right at home. Next time, I wanna go along, Bruce.
