Live at Budokan: Full Show!
DarkHammer replied to Saul Goodman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
They still sound great, I saw them live in March and they were amazing! -
Another Special from 1982 is trying to get sold for big bucks - $7,118 with $600 shipping. https://reverb.com/item/100047741-hamer-special-1982-unique-rare-union-jack-glitter-sparkle-relic-cherry-orange Usual going price for early 1980s Special is around $2,000. So, why $5K markup? Because seller says that painted Union Jack is worth extra $5K!!!! Original factory finishes are scarce and demand high prices, and that's what the seller implies here, yet if you look closer at the picks you'll notice that: 1) Under the paint it looks like a normal wood grain of a thin veneer Special top. 2) Red paint surface is bubbly and uneven, not something you'd expect from Hamer workshop at the time (especially evident in pic #14). This looks more like an overspray one would do in their garage. 3) Red paint is applied over dings - see pic #8. New guitar at the factory would not have these dings, it's obvious that well played instrument was used for painting over. To me this looks like an aftermarket amateur paint job and sorry attempt to extract big money from the buyers.

There is a Wordpress issue documented that hit my little reflexology pages as well the other day. It‘s a managed service and they had provided steps to solve the issues. I followed all, but the server seemed still showing unwanted activities. After a few days, I had been offered to play in an older but clean backup that was not available to me by service. Seems to be fine by now. I have had this kind of issues several times in my IT life. Always a hassle of work. In one case I reprogrammed an open source software -phpNuke- myself to make sure doors are closed. I can imagine your job, Ted. These issues always happen when not needed i.e. around Christmas/New Year. A big thank you is not enough, to say it really. I truly hope you are almost through it.

They sure tried, but we are not out of the woods yet. Been watching all night and so far so good. Lets hope they got bored and went home. Keep your eyes peeled for weirdness and let me know right away if you see anything -

Glad it’s back. I felt lost. And all the characters I have no other way to interact with.

Well, it's a 1996, not a 2006. Elduave and I checked it out at Atomic - it's not bad, despite some changed parts. The Hardtail is kinda cool and rare if you dig that. It's also not a brick, like some of the earlier Daytonas were. I'm still planning to swing by Atomic tomorrow at some point to just stop by and see what's new.

I should have brought them out earlier when lighting was better, maybe tomorrow evening, some lighting editing (courtesy of FastStone) will have to do

Thank you Ted. In the immortal words of Ms. Mitchell: "Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you've got till it's gone" -
Yeah man, time capsule.

The ebony ‘board The Paul (especially before Gibson added the “Firebrand” moniker) is my favorite LP variant. I still play both a ‘78 walnut with T-tops and a ‘79 mahogany. Other than butterscotch Teles, they’re the only guitars I’d sub for an oar to navigate through rapids and then bring on stage for work. They do vary, though: most are around 8 lbs but I once snared a sustain-monster ‘80 that weighed close to 11 lbs. Congrats!

And here I thought the Russians had sent their AI force to remove all traces if Hamer from the interwebs. Thank you Ted, for keeping us safe. -

That is a profoundly clean guitar, @Saul Goodman. Was it put into experimental stasis just after manufacture?
