  2. Bullshit. The ad clearly says the guitar was made by Paul Hammer.
  3. Today
  4. Fuk'n crack smoker... 🤣 That was my first thought, but still doesn't explain why the tailstop is so far away. There are literally thousands of de-kahlerized guitars where the tailstops are in a normal position... you just fill the void with wood and it's solid... therefore, you can mount the post anywhere... 🤷‍♂️
  5. Theory: re-topped after Kahler/trem-of-some-kind removal. Tailpiece studs moved back to avoid repair area. The top is way too clean vs the wear on the back. IMHO. Cool guitar. Just a few weirdnesses for that kind of money. ...or I'm just smoking crack.
  6. #89: Mostly because my Shishkov ended up with the same number: ...and how cool would it have been to have both, right?
  7. putting it back up again.. upgraded tailpiece.. swapped tuning pegs.. (original stuff included) plays great, looks great.. OHSC 1900 shipped plus fees or PPFF no fees
  8. Was going to post that. That, and that the stop tail placement bothers the shit out of me.
  9. i might have to try these out in my Boogie at some point...
  10. Agreed! But the mix has something to do with it as the difference between the UK and US mix shows. How to get that punch? Less compression and more highs?
  11. Dude’s an animal. His stint in Rainbow kind of made that band. Ya gotta love Coverdale, though. He doesn’t ask much from his audience, and the audience doesn’t ask much from him.
  12. Ok, so all you mixer/producer/engineer master minds out there... How do you get a kick to sound this good? (Besides having Cozy play it : )
  13. From the ad: "This is serial number 0040 built by Paul Hammer in early 1976"
  14. Yesterday
  15. No idea what I was thinking. Outstanding guitar.
  16. IIRC, way back in the dark ages, when I started drooling over guitars, Gibson listed their top of the line archtop (Super 400) at $1225, with an added $50 for natural. (I guess they were $400 when first produced). So the upcharge is nothing new.
