The Vertex guy's video about the same idea reminded me that I have an old Behringer Tube Ultragain mic 100 that would probably do similar. The Behringer would be better if it had a standard power input size, it's 9v, but they had to use that 'other size'. Some guys in some of the comments were sarcastically stating "I run my modeler through a tube amp to get a more authentic amp sound" or something like that

Oh, I have been jonesin' to post something for so long

Just traded my VN and another pedal for a Mad Professor 1 and a HBE Germanium Boost. The, “chewiness”, of the MDV is what sold me, along with the treadle control. -

some song lyrics that always leave me puzzled, unless I'm hearing them wrong: Only time will tell if we stand the test of time (vh sammy) Let your inhibitions run wild (Rod Stewart, 'tonight's the night') It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not (bon jovi) - Today

Is the phrase, "It's a reminder of what's to come," correct?

I probably could have lived without this, but I can really hear the difference. You might call it the proverbial "take the blanket off your speaker cabinet" difference. Obviously it will have more impact if you have a large pedal board and/or play with a longer cord (after the unit!) all of which means compounded capacitance. And it should sweeten things up a bit for those using a modeler. OTOH, such as Jimi did just fine with cheap ass coil cords when he cranked up his Marshalls.....🤔 I do like that it has no AC cord (like older versions) and can be powered by your board mounted power supply.

Many many thanks, Ted! -
If anyone's interested, I bought the iRig HD X and it works as advertised. I am able to monitor both the Multitracks and the guitar sound via my IEMs plugged into the iRig. iRig has lots of great amp sounds that come with the unit, but if they don't inspire, lots of paid options, as well. Pedalboard options pre and post (loop) are offered. It works well as a practice tool. If I want to go deeper, the ToneX range is available with the same sounds in a pedal format.

blue one is a recent Fender Ultra, the color is Denim, it's a "FSR" built for Guitar Center. I was going to flip it, but it sure is pretty. The green Anderson only weighs about 5 pounds, Hollow T drop top, ya gotta have a lightweight tele for when your back is tired from yardwork, that's just common sense.

Any of the mid-line, small-bodied Taylors are a good choice, especially used. They are very durable, play easily and sound nice. If you could find a 12st Duotone, well, you know...

People pay a lot for dudes to do that to new instruments. With a razor blade or by freezing the body. 🙂 -
I have a few Vibes, including an early gold Deja Vibe. For less than half, you can score a photocell Lovepedal Vibronaut, and if you're willing to tweak the internal trim pots, you can dial in the Fulltone chewiness, along with other flavors the DV won't touch. The LP is an authentic Vibe, and by far the most tunable I've found.

What is the Reverb "put it in your cart" game about?
DarkHammer replied to mrjamiam's question in Ask the HFC Experts
Not sure it works the same on Reverb, however on eBay some buyers use this as a strategy to motivate sellers into discounts. Logic goes like this - someone puts an item in their cart, doesn't buy, and after a few days seller starts to think - they are on the edge, let's give them a discount to push them into buying. I've noticed that after I add items to my eBay cart I start getting offers from sellers. Me personally - I don't really pay attention to items in someone's cart.
