So I was wondering how many of you have low production custom made guitars. You know local guy who makes maybe 15-30 a year or even less.

I have two Schultes, a Les Paul Standard clone and a Les Paul Junior clone. Both are really really nice. Eric Schulte had a real nice write up in Vintage Guitar arond October 2000 IIRC.

Around '97, I think it was, a company called Arpeggio started advertizing in VG and I ended up with one of the first two Prototype Flying Vs they made.

I own an unlabeled guitar said to be a Bowen. I've never found any other info on that one.

While not truely luthier cut as it is a Mighty Mite body and a Hamer Daytona neck, I also have an Explorer guitar put together ala SuperStrat Style by Ben Chafin. I consider that REAL close to how his guitars feel.

I picked this guitar up around 2002 or so. I guy from BC Rich started his own company and made a guitar or two from Sean Martin of the metal band Hatebreed. The guy built one guitar, this is serial number 1 and then went back to BC Rich.

This guitar came with a EMG but I put in a gibson Tony Iommi. It is tuned low C and use it for stoner rock. It kills. I bought it from a place in Colorado, Drum City I think. Guy told me that Mick Thompson of Slipknot wanted to buy it when he was with BC Rich. he liked it butwanted one like it for free from BC Rich.

I'm taking my hacked up 78' Hamer Sunburst to him tomorrow to make right. B) It will be one of my players and no one else will ever touch it. Pics to follow......

I think that's the first setneck Fano I've seen? Nice!

Probably. I worked with Dennis for several years. Most of the early models were set necks (Tonestars and Orbiters). I have a few of those as well. I will post pics tomorrow.

In order to remain a one man shop, yet increase productivity, the move to bolt ons was made.

His attention to detail is second to none.

Gene,

Not sure if you know this but judging by the name you gave it, you probably do. This V was built by Ron E Kayfield of Wasted (w/Pete Way) Real nice guy!

Not very rawk, though here's mine - made by a local guy here in Melbourne. He makes two to three a year, and I'm due to receive my second order (Tasmanian Blackwood this time) later in the year.

IIRC Tonejunkie and I have the first 2 Korina Hubers. Nik told me at NAMM that he had never worked with it before and fell in love with it when he did our guitars. Mobster *might* have one as well but I am not sure if he got one of those or his Redwood at the time. One piece body.

MMMM HMMMM, That Dolphin is REALLY SWEET!!!! B):D

I talked to Ron a couple times Frank. He was pretty cool and full of fun info. The Korina in his guitars were "softball grandstand seating in the mid 50's for two years" :lol:B):PB) Dont know how we, Ron or myself, could EVER find true proof of that. I WANT one of the 8 explorers he made. He told me there are 10 Vs including two protos, the 8 IIRC Explorers, and two of the double neck Vs. He also made some Strat bodied guitars and LP bodied guitars with Flying V headstocks from the Korina. The Double Vs look SICK! :PB):P:D

Some interesting stuff guys! MORE!!!!! :D:D:P
