  1. Watch out what you say about that cheeseball! He may be judging you and the Playboy band next year at the RnR Hall of Fame!
  2. Ha ha ha - my thoughts exactly, Steve!! I LOVE that old chestnut... You know what they say about opinions.
  3. CraP! Can somebody put that on a disc for me?!?!?! I saw them in '86, '89 and '92 and it WAS always great show. As much of a DLR VH fan that I am, Sammy was (and IS) an unbelievable frontman. Shame that those VH boys have A-holed themselves into irrelevancy...
  4. Let me correct what I meant - the footswitch switches between the lead and rhythm MODES of the amp. It does have a single jack, but Boogie uses that "Dual Mode" circuitry so you can simulate a channel switch. There is a Lead Master knob that works in conjunction with the footswitch to give your leads a boost. It is "in series" with the Master Volume and is located in front of it in the signal path. Hope that's more clear!
  5. It's a channel switch (Rhythm/Lead) Not sure if this is the 22 or the 22+ - the 22+ has the EQ section. This would be from the mid-late '80s with the metal switches. Both are great little (LOUD) combos.
  6. Peso: Elduave does really well with the Martins - nice electronics too for the price.
  7. Armitage is correct - it may not be possible to get the yellowing out of a finish, although the naptha will remove the gunk and grime accumulated over years. Just don't smoke while you're doing that little job, or you'll be like the Flaming Banana man.
  8. Nope - the layers of binding are laid on as individual strips, believe it or not. One of those "we do it the hard waym even though we don't have to" things they do so well.
  9. "Excessive" and "improper" use of "quotation" marks
  10. Ah, already been done!
  11. Let me guess...an ALL binding guitar? That is a seriously cool look and the efforts they put in are more than they have to. REALLY. Elduave ordered me up some on my new M3, and it totally works with the Caddy Green finish. Each layer of binding is placed individually, they don't use a pre-molded/prefab multi-ply binding like Gib$0n and others do. That's a detail 99.9999999% of us wouldn't ever catch, but Jol pointed out that you can tell when you look at the sharper curves and angles - no distortion of the line as it stretches around the curve. Pretty neat! BTW - I have Ivoroid binding on the back of my B-4m. I have looked dozens of times (since getting that bass in January) and STILL cannot find where they joined the seam. Unbelievable work.
  12. I've got 3 within a 45 minute circle. That's THREE reasons not to go.
  13. A great day to a great HFC'er.
  14. Brian is THE BEST to deal with. I purchased his matching 4 string 2Tek, and it was one of the best transactions ever. Straight up good guy. I'm afraid to find out what he got on eBay...
  15. I've also been pretty impressed with Michael A's playing live, and I am the "Anti-shred" guy. Sure, it's fun to watch and all, but I can't bring myself to LISTEN to it. That guy goes far deeper than the flash and speed thing when he does his clinics. I think 99% of us here would be very pleasantly surprised.
  16. Naw - leave it to Brooks TO LAND this one! Belgian - so I shouldn't trust this guy with my SISTER either?!?!?!
  17. Man...I've been such a WRECK lately, that I missed out on that good time last night. I'm still not sure if my little Sis was able to make it out - she needed an ED-ucation in some hot-rockin' CC tunes.
  18. Hamerica is right on with that one. That sold for FAR less than I thought it would go for in the end. Good thing you were busy with other things, eh Brian?!?!
  19. It didn't sell. It will possibly do better without all the "Designer Gallery" hyperbole from the past auctions. I think (my opinion only, now!) that the way that and the other auctions were worded before, coupled with the insulting shipping charges ($300?!?!) turned a lot of people off. I think that was really unfortunate, because I have checked this guitar out and it is EXTREMELY cool not to mention a true "one-of-a-kind" thing. The owner (not the eBay lister) doesn't come across with the same bombastic sales approach.
  20. + 1 Good guy, square dealer. Mucho trusto.
  21. Redd Kross/the Bros. McDonald = So freakin' Cool
  22. Update: This guitar made it out to our DWTM gig last night and I was/am beyond blown away - hands-down my favorite Hamer! I wish I had taken more time with it, but did get a really nice test drive through both a Marshall and Fender products at playing volume. The neck is absolutely perfect in carve and fit. I couldn't have had them make a better one for me. The Bigsby adds a little body weight, but it is still a good bit lighter than any of my Les Pauls. I'm not sure how the Spruce top would do, but the maple top in this one had just the right amount of "breathe" (and that slight vibration that you sense more than feel) - very clear response. The volume/tone controls are amazingly responsive, and backing off either one a coupla notches really makes a difference and offers a whole lot of flexibility and options. The 5-way/3P-90 combination is a winner, for sure. I'm going to have to spend A LOT more time with this one, but there are some serious humbucker-type tones hiding in there as well as the ability to pull out some pseudo-Strat stuff, particularly in positions 2 and 4. It does dirt and "clean n' clear" equally well, and I can tell that I'll be doing a good bit of tweaking to figure out how to get the most out of it. Both Carlos and Elduave took it for a spin and really seemed to dig it. Dave used it for a good chunk of the last set, and he totally went to town. I definitely heard some stuff coming out of that box that I'd never have associated with a semi-hollow! If the case hadn't been locked in a car, I'd be playing it right now and annoying the neighbors instead of typing this nonsense. As an afterthought, the thing just looks badassed too! It will be mine. Oh yes - it WILL be mine...
  23. It looks like a Custom Shop decal on the back of the headstock, but I can't see close up. That is probably the case, as I remember seeing a few of those in the past.
  24. Gene: Just like you to corrupt the gentle n' peace lovin' Dean folks, isn't it?! A nice, subtle blueburst ML would make my list anyday.
  25. SOLD!! Thanks very much to all who have contacted me on this one. I am shocked at how quickly this one moved. It is going to a good home.
