  1. Ironically, Dave wrote and recorded much, much better early-Metallica-style music than did Metallica after Master of Puppets. In terms of solos, his hired gun lead guitarists were all major upgrades over Kirk and his monotonous, perpetual wheedly wah.
  2. "Scatter Lee" of TDPRI fame has hand built a few like that--"Scattervarius", he calls them. Dude is a tradesman and sort of self-taught savant who lives in Florida and watches gators from his back deck. His build threads are equal parts amusing and impressive.
  3. Outstanding player. Incredible chops. Seems to be very down to earth and a relatable sense of humor.
  4. He was the middle outfielder of guitarists. Not incredibly talented, but serviceable, savvy, and smart enough to work within his range.
  5. Verily. He's such a humble guy to be a music legend. How anyone could watch interviews with Gilmour and Waters and come away with a more positive (or even neutral) impression of Waters just defies logic.
  6. Priceless facial expression.
  7. Excuse me, Professor. These fine gentlemen would like a word...
  8. Partscasters really are fun. I'm still enjoying this one.
  9. Been to Biltmore a few times over the years, although my last visit was over 10 years ago. At least they have more convenient restroom facilities now than the virtually non-existent loos from the early '70s.
  10. This x 1 million. You won't regret it.
  11. This seems ironically appropriate.
  12. Well...Zamfir IS master of the pan flute. Life goals.
  13. Dudes who steal guitars should be subjected to having a Dean headstock shoved up their arses.
  14. Nope. Acapulco Lounge.
  15. I'm 99.99% it is a Centaura, as well.
  16. That would be some mondo Hondo.
  17. The cover of my all time favorite birthday card. Not really relevant to birthdays, in general, but totally in line with Jay's sense of humor. Happy birthday, friend!
  18. Tomorrow is Jay's birthday. He'll be in the hospital, but he continues to fight and shoot birds at the disease trying to destroy his body. Given tomorrow's an increasingly recognized national holiday, perhaps we should raise our own glasses to liberation for all beings. And to liberation from diseases that threaten to take lives at too young an age.
