  1. OK, makes sense. It's like (I believe) the proper pronunciation for Porsche is Por-sha as that's what the guys name was...Ferdinand Porsche. So, I hate when people call it Porsh. If I'm wrong I apologize and please correct me! It's kind of like how Walther guns (which I own) are pronounced like you think it should be Wal-Ther but the correct pronunciation is Val-ter because there's no TH sound in German (at least that's what I've been told). But, everyone's Americanized it and calls it Wal-ther...even me. Not sure why the Por-sha thing bothers me so much!
  2. YOu said Tee Lee? Is that how's it's pronounced? I just always said it like it looks; theel...
  3. Haha! I thought the thread title meant they had strings on sale at a place called first fret!!
  4. ^^^Nice boobs, cute face...reminds me of Linda Ronstats daughter. Nice guitar playing - I like it.
  5. I guess it depends on if you're talking about the general public or guitarists...but anyway... Riot,Loudness, King's X and Laurie Freelove.
  6. I always thought the curved end of the neck (where it joins the body) reminded me a LOT of early ('60's, '70's) import guitars And the curved end of the Starcaster headstock reminds me a lot of a penis! :-) Hmmm, somethings are better left unsaid, but thanks for sharing!
  7. Fender already has a Starcaster cheap beginner guitar out (not the same guitar I know). http://www.zzounds.com/item--FENSTARCASTER That would be like how HAmer named their cheap line Slammer just to confuse people about the proper pronunciation of HAmer!
  8. Yeah, I always felt that if these damn customers would just leave me alone I could run my business!
  9. Fidel-trons, Cuba's gift to the guitar community!
  10. Picky bitches! She is SO hot, sings well, plays fine and she's SO hawt! Check out her Kiss Me version from six pence none the richer. It shows a softer vocal quality. Anyway, check out this link as well. A very talented computer artist painting a picture of her. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UamPpTSM2mc
  11. The M22SD was a good pickup - great sound...to me anyway.
  12. Tapes? Haha! I just recently digitally recorded 20 hours of song ideas/riffs that were on tape...down to just a couple hours or so. I then burned all the tapes on the driveway to dispose of the evidence! It was kind of cathartic. I usually am most prolific when life is tough...suffering through things. Hard life = good songs...for me anyway...and most blues players! Here's a free songwriting course from Boston College of Music. I did it and it was fun and makes you work like Polara said. https://www.coursera.org/course/songwriting?from_restricted_preview=1&course_id=970262&r=https%3A%2F%2Fclass.coursera.org%2Fsongwriting-001%2Fauth%2Fauth_redirector%3Ftype%3Dlogin%26subtype%3Dnormal%26visiting%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fclass.coursera.org%252Fsongwriting-001%252Fwiki%252Fview%253Fpage%253Dcourseschedule Hope this helps! Good luck!
  13. With all the blood there's no need for chain lube.
  14. That's what I do w/ my Husqvarna . Works for me as I don't have that much to cut down around my house. This saw will just be handed down when I die.
  15. New Belgium Brewing CO. from Colorado; Fat Tire is one my favorites. Beers from Sweetwater, ATL, GA I like a lot of imports from all over. From Mexico I like Dos Equis, Tecate and Negro Modelo. Of course I'm partial to my own homebrew!
  16. THIS^^^^ Exactly what I thought of as well!
  17. I teach beginning guitar and these would come in handy. I could use the neon strings and maybe some pics and other strings if possible.
  18. Have to add a few more! Gwen Stefani old Madonna Stevie Nicks Kate Pierson Cindy Wilson Adele Lisa Loeb...man just too many out there!
  19. Liz Phair Alanis Morrisette Christina Aguilera Marie Fredriksson -Roxette Annie Lenox Laurie Freelove Sarah Blackwood Kate Bush Susanna Hoffs Tanya Donnelley Martina McBride Deborah Harry Ann & Nancy Wilson Pat Benatar Linda Rondstat Paula Cole
  20. Well, I got the motor turning just fine, replaced the belt so all that works fine, topped off the oil, tested the one 7199 tube and it tested good, but still just have faint echos. BUT, it has the coolest tube preamp sound in front of my Zinky MoFo! I'm wondering since it is so old - 40 years or so - if caps would need replacing to get it up to speed. Everything else look like the day it was made...nothing appears to be tampered with. What do some of you think? It's all point to point construction and I saw yellow tube caps in there...maybe they need replacing. I'm a pretty handy guy (especially when I've been drinking! ba-dum-bump) but how do you test caps?
  21. Totally cool. I like old stuff. In another thread I talked of getting this old Tel-ray oil can delay. Now, I want to get a RECORDING sign that lights up that was from a studio nearby where Elvis recorded a little. I saw the pics and everything...pretty cool old stuff.
  22. I ,liked the 2nd vid much better.
