  1. I get several hours out of one like this, super handy to have around https://www.amazon.com/JOYO-4400mAh-Rechargeable-Battery-Outputs/dp/B0871RLGH3/ref=sr_1_5?adgrpid=183284765941&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Itu-2HEDVtVjXm52hTOk0Va-dDzsKcPxoNZkfsoEs0gvO5OcLdksa-BgMQPLVSjSjBCWIvBkVYNCS_SdROwGm6VroOzH8T-gCam3Tp8j0f79hUsMFw-H64B1EpFwksOGgrU0YF4vibXk5mLM9nYb8WOEZRtnCfYw4GXr6x9EOYazdndkesDNRCGFjJr1ByIcDyAXEgRlpkLNH5LVEWkBSsN9ARL0BJCDmSbslamsTI8zMV8urUS9qPoq6WEc6yumIyPOZriTGpKVlNvwUGjRk6Si67DEDAFDCzWLqgA4cDM.xplUFoDTkpnEEpapyFtyRonzZvOCIZM51ZZPsfosHRE&dib_tag=se&hvadid=779606185117&hvdev=c&hvexpln=0&hvlocphy=9033482&hvnetw=g&hvocijid=5407482773586929371--&hvqmt=e&hvrand=5407482773586929371&hvtargid=kwd-374387947139&hydadcr=29648_14958190_21474&keywords=joyo%2Bpedal%2Bpower%2Bsupply&mcid=66aea9f6531331899aabbca0b3826d85&qid=1762643765&sr=8-5&th=1
  2. I wish they had done a blue Boston one to mimic the Rockman, - I'm sure they would have had to call it something else (Clam Chowdah?. I bet that would have been cool. Pt 2 has arrived, the Mop Top. That's it, I'm not buying any more of these...
  3. I have the same RK5, and I feel similarly about the built in 'omg' OD, I typically use some other lowish gain OD pedal into the input of the RK5 (I think the Flyrigs are unfairly judged based on the OD section as being not 'optional', but that's another rant). I'll piece this together soon, my 'stereo' pedalboard: I also just yesterday got a TC Electronic Mimiq, I plan to use that after the RK5 into the Character pedal for a subtle left/right separation, more subtle than a chorus pedal. I'll report later on that
  4. mine is due at the doorstep at any moment, I have so much fun with guitar stuff, I'm glad I can still get excited waiting for a new piece of gear to arrive. Here, smaller than expected, and sounds great through the mixer/headphones.
  5. the Super Distortion came with this guitar when I bought it in '02, I don't recall where I got the the currently installed PAF, but I might have bought from someone here. The SD hasn't been in it for a long time, and I've been meaning to re-install it. I have two '80s Ibanez with the V-2 (super distortion clone?) at the bridge, I like those. Has anyone here A/B'd the V2 and the SD?
  6. This one just recently got a solid review from one of the youtube reviewers, the youtube guy is kind of irritating, so I hesitate to post the link. I like the Eart I got last spring for $319, if I didn't have the Eart I'd probably buy one of these for a 'couch guitar', I use the Eart for that, and haul it along for backup or to use as the demo guitar if I'm selling an amp or pedal, which is very handy. It looks like it has a standard Floyd type locking nut, and my IYV bass (that I really like) has similar tensioner/tuners at the bridge. Scratch that headless itch for $199. https://www.amazon.com/Leo-Jaymz-Fingerboard-Stainless-Round-Fret/dp/B0F7L7VCMX/ref=sr_1_32_sspa?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.3dBEHQ3ZIg_YhShPtNahOiF24UK-ok3MA7yDvFMl_efwZSNKRGs-QZMzBMRvRZ6zAEvLRaYX71gSWqoFxgtwjoXp_QM0aVVMtzSBexuCQq-MTUbOIExxjlt0mypRh-HOZybYr1GPX20kJKzQVbXiOyWkZFcwdwibSQFXVHhmES5feIlAk9AJkUen1tqIFgFnNA-pp9zw94Rs_sNSv28L2QZuFLiuOGJZPRBS9a7T-UAAaoLStCsFoM00EhyJfaVew3M9xaWVLT7qV7EmbeeMmM8CdTqKzXRDviZ_QPl6gvk.LVDiYibcmfoFgBjuBCX8gr24WZSAkZzafWOrghkHDbU&dib_tag=se&keywords=leo%2Bjaymz&qid=1762368176&s=musical-instruments&sr=1-32-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9idGY&th=1
  7. ooh! and a Custom too! "amber" color? I have one similar in Copper, which is corroding where the clear coat has been broken allowing air to the copper. Super cool guitar, I hope someone here gets it, and puts the right knobs back on.
  8. sold out of the $299 kit! I should have bought one and had a pro builder put it together right
  9. I want one of those now too (and just ordered one, I imagine I'd be able to sell a spare pretty easily when these are gone)
  10. Correct me if I'm wrong: there doesn't seem to be many choices for a simple amp simulator di box with xlr & 1/4" outs (1/4" for send to your stage amp) and an output volume control. Even with the Strymon Iridium you have to add a di box, not building that with an xlr out seems like a design oversight. I had a Nux Amp Academy for a while, but I worry about losing a preset, or not knowing which preset I'm actually on without having to link to a screen, while trying to setup my 'stage rig' (while typically in a rush).
  11. I ordered a Blonde, 'cause: I wanted an analogue amp simulator for the tail end of the pedalboard with xlr out. I already use a RK5 for tuner and delay, this should allow for a volume adjustable B channel (stereo, output from the RK5 through a chorus etc into the Blonde). I don't intend to use the 'screamer' side at all. This might work for you too if you're looking for an amp simulator type xlr out from your board, and don't want to edit/save/edit on a screen https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SansAmpSB--tech-21-sansamp-character-plus-screaming-blonde
  12. Dot emerges from her coffin (case) and wishes you a safe and happy Halloween
  13. I suspect that jealousy (of the genetics and opportunities) fuels most of the hate. It would be far worse if he had shunned music and ignored his talent, and it's too bad that Ed (and Al) didn't have more offspring.
  14. just a month or two ago I found a Washburn Paul Stanley V for a very attractive price, the lower price model made in Indonesia, with reverse headstock and a single hum. It a pretty neat guitar and surprisingly lightweight, it's currently out on loan with a friend, - I'll have to get it back soon.
  15. they might be smart to build a 'standard' I've been around a couple of Larivee, consistently excellent from the small sample I've seen: my bandleader has a well worn acoustic (exceptionally good sounding by itself, and plugged in imo), and quite a while ago I found a PJ bass for stupid cheap and sold it to a good friend for what I paid for it, he still has it, - very well built as I recall.
  16. Nice! - those shoes look well suited to pedal buttons that are close together
  17. I've been messing around with lowering nut slots this past year with good results, a quick and dirty check is: if the gap above the first fret when 'open' is significantly larger than 2nd fret gap (when fretted at first fret) it needs some lowering. Hamer seems to have had very good nut QC, but you don't know if the nut on there is original or not if you bought used, and I've seen a few guitars with replaced nuts that were never filed to fit, - there's lots of room for improvement on those! I shoot for the nut slots the same height as the frets, sort of like a zero-fret would be. My favorite method so far is to find a scrap string piece that is even with or slightly bigger/taller than the frets, and lay that up against the nut (important that it is right up next to the nut) and use that as a sort of temporary 'zero fret' and cut the slots until the file bumps the scrap string. I'll add a pic, that file angle is a bit steep, but you get the idea. I have a little parts box with string scraps of varying thickness just for this. It seems that acoustic /bronze strings might be easier on the files long term than something like stainless strings.
  18. I gave up: measured carefully and ordered a Graphtech. Apparently I ordered the right one, I didn't have to touch it with a file or anything, and it stays in tune much better now.
  19. I would have suggested Simon Phillips, - but they didn't ask me
  20. I had Ah VIa Musicom on heavy rotation for a while there, and saw him on the original G3 tour, I remember that being really fun. I also recall that he was wearing over ears during the jam at the end with the other guys (Satch and Vai) and seemed a little bit uncomfortable with that part
  21. seems like a 'tricky' market right now for a new brand, - he could hire all the G&L people?, but I imagine they will be built in Indonesia
