Korina Vector in Da House!
LordOfTheThighs replied to LordOfTheThighs's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
There it is. Approved by the "King Of Korina" himself. I guess I've gotten a bit lazy these days, and sit quite a bit when I play, in front of my computer. I used to stand and play all the time. News Alert: Vees ain't really made for sitting. I guess I need to get my big ass up off the chair anyways. -
My Vector arrived yesterday. Not single scratch or mark on it anywhere. I've never owned a Flying V or a Korina guitar. So this is a double treat. I had to adjust the intonation, right out of the chute. Quick little job. Plugged it in .... WHAM! Oozing the tone out. It had my Mesa Single Rectum-Fryer singing. Hamers just have a feeling of being alive, the way they resonate. The neck is pretty big. It feels as big as my chub .... errr I mean Les Paul R8. And now some pics.

My faith in eBay has been restored - PRS content
LordOfTheThighs replied to BadgerDave's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Great score. I haven't evah owned a PRS, but I played a few. Nice gits. I hope its all you expect. The description says its a winner. Yeah ... nice pictures really help move a sale along. OTOH, crappy pics can kill an auction for the seller. But an informed buyer, can make the cruddy pics work for him. Nice ebay strategy. -

What is everyone working on guitar-wise?
LordOfTheThighs replied to Bruiser Brody's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Me? I'm working on not SUCKING so badly. It's tough, but I'm almost up to "hack" level. -
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME That's beyond cool. It's a well known fact that KISS is my favorite band. (since '75). I'm really glad for you, and envious also. That's really SCHWEEEEEET!

I picked a Mesa Single Retum-Fryer up a few weeks ago. Still in the honeymoon stage with it. Channel 1 has a decent sounding clean sound. Flick the switch and you have a nice medium overdrive sound. Kick into channel 2 and wallow in 3 delicious gain levels. I'm running it into my 4 X 10 Marshall cab. Not bad, but I'll probably score a Mesa cab in the not to distant future. (Shhhhhhhh .... don't tell my wife) I'm still diggin' it!

Hey man, is that Freedom Rock?

Great stuff. He sent me some a month or 2 ago. My bottle is half gone already. It's a unique taste. Quite unlike mass produced hot sauces. Whenever my wife makes chili, she wusses out and doesn't make it as spicey as I like, so she and the kids can eat it. Shake about 7 or 8 healthy drops in my chili bowl, and VIOLA' ... just right.

These are my favorite pairing that I've seen personally: '79 KISS w/ Priest opening. '82 Priest w/ Iron Maiden opening. '82 Billy Squier w/ Def Leppard opening. Right as "Pyromania" was taking off. '83 Ozzy w/ Motley Crue opening. Their "Shout At The Devil" Tour. '85 ('86?) Aerosmith w/ Ted Nugent opening.

I'm gonna have to agree that this pic: doesn't have the "phallic" look to it. But I think this one fits the bill. Then of course there was this one:

+1000 My wife and I were laughing our asses off. My 11 year old daughter, kept asking, " What? What's so funny???" I kept waiting to hear the FCC was gonna ring him up for the "shadow puppet". I'm not a Prince fan at all, but I really got goosebumps when he started playing "Purple Rain" in that downpour. Great guitar playing. I always heard that the Nation Anthem and halftime show sound was pre-recorded a few days before the Stupor Bowl, and then lip-synched. That way in case of a sound problem, there wouldn't be a glitch. Anybody else ever heard this?

The "instrument that started it all"
LordOfTheThighs replied to Willie G. Moseley's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
As a kid, I saw Paul Stanley playing a white Explorer on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert. I'd been a a huge fan of KISS for a couple of years at that point, but I'd never seen an Explorer before. Then when I seen his PS-10 Iceman, I was head over heels. Also when I seen Joe Perry on the California Jam II show, that played every Saturday evening over the summer of '78, I seen his red Bich. BOING!!! And Ace's tobacco burst Les Paul just sealed the deal. -
