What is a themed Guitar? A guitar that becomes an extension of your personality !!! For example if you are a Trekkie, We can build you a Star Trek themed guitar !! If you like the New York Yankees, We can build you a NY Yankees Themed Guitar. YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love how he's picturing guitars that he DIDN'T make and is name dropping like "John Entwistle gave me the blueprint for this guitar" but someone else made the guitar in the picture.

Hate the look, love the feel
DaveL replied to Willie G. Moseley's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
On a Hamer level, definitely the Eclipse. I've played a few that rocked. Not ugly... but the looks are a little hard to roll with... -
My soon to be 13 year old who I'm very proud of. good grades too...

I had an 80's sunburst special that had exactly that fade due to age... and it looked awesome. great choice. -
I do know a couple of folks that do a *lot* of buying/selling/flipping on feeBay, and they say that they run into some unreasonable smack-job about one out of every 100 transactions. In other words, we're both overdue. yes you are... I went 250-0-0 and shipped to almost every state and about 5 countries with no issues. I got negged by some idiot who lives 15 miles away from me and had been on ebay exactly two weeks... That said, I don't like the idea of retaliatory feedback at all... some sellers definitely use it as a scare tactic...

I have a soft spot for the later stuff, Renegade, Live/Life and Thunder and Lightning (Holy War has some GREAT double guitar) I also love the Lynott single "Out in the fields" with Gary Moore which I think was the last thing that Phil, it rocked... but really it's all good...

Pete Way of UFO... My favorite bass player of all time. He provides a nice bottom end, but throws in some subtle hooks underneath yet it never takes away from the groove... He can write, produce and drink like a fish and still not miss a note... He's also a great showman. Stage presence wise, I would guess that Steve Harris and Nikki Sixx were both influenced by him...

I dunno, to pull that off they would have had the foresight to sign for it using a fake name because you or the police could have located where the package was in about a minute and a half... but actually, when you think of it, UPS leaving stuff on doorsteps is pretty scary, they could either either leave it at the wrong house or, the neighborhood punks can scoff it...

me too, I'd submit a paypal claim as well and put in that you paid via amex, that'll probably get paypal's attention. and save all your little emails from the prick...

I think the pics are a little misleading but... the spelling/grammar is brutal. That would tell me that maybe he's not capable of going over the guitar fully and/or packing it correctly. I'm really picky about it because I got burned once by a guy like this...

Here's a link to the Hamer Fan Club guest book, the first entries are undated but man... that was back in the day, shortly after I invented the internet... http://www.hamerfanclub.com/guestbook.html

Favorite bands that went nowhere, dept.
DaveL replied to BCR Greg's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I have that Life Sex and Death album, there's one song called "some fuckin shit-ass". If I have a rough day at the office I will sometimes hum that tune to myself. My Faves... zodiac mindwarp, D-Generation. Circus of Power Rose Tattoo/Angel City... I liked em, their albums would always have a couple clunkers but at the same time they'd have 2 or 3 kickass tunes too... good to see GNR pay homage by covering "nice boys"... UFO/Thin Lizzy should have been bigger in US no idea why Kix... one of the best live bands ever, there's a book 100 greatest metal albums of all time and Kix had something like 5 albums in the top 50. Jason and the Scorchers... If I had a band, it would have Marshall's and we'd sound like Jason. -

thanks for the comments guys... that flametop eclipse was pretty cool. It was listed on the Daddy's website as flametop eclipse and since Daddy's screws up the descriptions about 50% of the time, I just assumed it was a typo... It played great, it cut through the mix like a razor but it weighed about 20 lbs... I was told they made a handful of them. I got the koa FM special here from the original owner. I seem to recall that the the store custom ordered it in koa and he bought it from them that way. The thing was beautiful but since I was putting a down payment on a condo around two years ago, I ebayed it oh well... BTW: MikeC's FM special listed above is quite the specimen. It looks to me like they used an ultimate grade top for it.. I don't think you'll find one like that on ebay... -

UFO Fans, And I Know There's A Bunch...
DaveL replied to elduave's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
hey I need to find a UFO dvd that has old school footage, does this have any or can anyone recommend something else??? Pete Way was my idol and I had a 76 T bird and tied two straps together so I could sling it low. I couldn't play worth a damn like that but it looked cool... -
I was gonna guess Johnny Knoxville...
-
I don't know what it's called but it's the one during the slow part of Weezer's Undone (sweater song)...

I'm thinking... Over the years Hamer has given me at least $500 worth of free swag, including the nielsen guitars of the stars which I think is worth maybe $100 and a COOL leather jacket which I won as a door prize. I've also had about six free lunches and got to pretty much walk around the factory and ask them questions like "did you fix Micheal Schenker's flying V because he smashed it while on a drunken bender???" On the first HFC, I had one of the guys spend a half hour w/me picking wood which they turned into a completed guitar within 5 weeks and I paid about 40% off list... what has gibson or Fender ever done for me??? never mind that, what has Blockbuster Video or Verizon wireless ever done for me?? I'm not going to bash them because they wanted to take a year off...
