  1. I need to ask an obvious question of you CB....... is your urine flow better?
  2. Prayers sent! Hang tough and may God bless.
  3. Nice! Now go sqeeze some joyful tones out of it.
  4. Rick...for country and blues I would go with something like a Weber 12f150 or, if you want to go a bit cheaper, an Eminence Legend GB128 would be a safe bet. I don't like the Jensen RI speakers, some folks do. If you want to try one, send me your info and I'll send you a C12N that was in my Twin for a couple of years.
  5. Lots of good ones named so I'll only mention one more..... Terry Kath is someone who flew totally under the radar. Listen to the first two Chicago albums and you will hear what I mean. Question 67& 68 reveals him as the first shredder, had but had soul to his playing. There is a free form guitar cut that he did at the request of Jimi Hendrix where he experimented with feed back, dive bomb etc. He was the player that Hendrix said "blew him away" . Very much an innovator that history missed probably because the later Chicago albums were pop schlock at best.
  6. I have Fillmores in my 95 Studio, no further upgrades were required.
  7. Happy Birthday Mr. 350!
  8. I'm never good at this. I have been where your are under very similar circumstances. It's never easy. Stay close to your loved ones and comfort each other, that is where you will find your support. Sorry for your loss.
  9. That's my favorite LP color. I have a 57 RI Goldtop, natural back and neck. Looks wise it's just another Goldtop so no pic. Sounds and plays like a LP is supposed to. Oh yeah.......not for sale either.
  10. I have one of these, the second one I've owned. The necks on the 95 wrap tail Studios are consistently medium. I have played a handful on top of the two I owned. Still the biggest bang for the buck in all of guitardom IMHO. Jim.....I also owned a 25th anniversary and I can tell you the necks are real close.
  11. JD.......I didn't care for the early OCD pedals and I agree they were too edgy to say the least. The new ones are much better, night and day and much more controllable IMHO.
  12. There is a 5 month wait on the Tim and Timmys' right now. Some guys on The Gear Page are selling them at quite a premium. Paul makes everything by hand in his garage so you can imagine how back-ordered he is. A close friend has both as well as a Heritage Colonial amp. Good pedals but I wasn't blown away by either but the amp on the amp on the other hand may be the best I have heard.
  13. Lots of good suggestions but let me add one for consideration, Tech 21 Double drive. I'm not sure if they are still being made but I saw one on Pedal Geek for $99.00. I got one from Poe for about $70.00 a couple of years ago. You should be able to find one used for cheap. These sound good in front of everything I have had. I really like it with my modded Peavey which is also an el-84 based amp. I have an OCD and love it. If you are looking for a little smoother and fatter OD try a Menatone Blue Collar. I like the Blue Collar so much I may be selling my Keeley Mod TS-9 that I have had for a few years.
  14. That is what I have found to be true as well. We have all have different ways of describing tone but I agree with your choice of words and you put it better than I ever did. I didn't think of it as more upper mids and highs just in my venacular more high end clarity and pop. Jack....Alder over Korina? Korina and Mahogany are the ultimate guitar woods IMHO.
  15. For distortion I have a Fulltone Distortion Pro and a newer OCD pedal. I use the OCD more . For OD I have a Kelley TS-9 and Blues Driver, Menatone Blue Collar, and Foxy Brown pedal. I'm keeping the TS_9 because it works well with my RI Tweed Bassman. The Foxy Brown is a GREAT pedal with all of my guitars and amps as is the Blue Collar. The Foxy Brown is supposed to emulate the OD of an 18 watt Marshall but I don't think it does, at least not with my gear. Plexiesque and Marshally I guess you could say but a very unique sound IMHO. The Blue Collar is a TS type of pedal but much fatter. Best bang for the buck is the Tech 21 Double Drive. Very amp and guitar friendly with tons of tones available for under $100.00.
  16. I thought that amp was sold? Guess not...haven't heard from him...you want it? If he doesn't get with you soon.....let me know. I'll take it off your hands.
  17. I thought that amp was sold?
  18. I voted for the Fillmores BUT....they are a Hot PAF. Great pickup. I finally put a set in my 57 RI Goldtop and they give chills. To bad I suck as a player but I do get some GREAT tones out of the guitar. The WCR Crossroads are the ticket if you are looking for a real PAF. I put a set in a Studio and it's spot on. I'm playing with the idea of putting a set in my 335. I think they would elevate that guitar to another level.
  19. I can't always open up my amps so I use a Keeley modded TS-9 or Fulltone OCD depending on my mood.
  20. The skeletal remains might clear out the party but here goes. Jimi Hendricks Roy Buchanan Duane Allman
  21. I had no idea what you were going through and I'm happy to hear you got him back. I can't imagine going through the same thing nor can I predict how I would handle the same sitiuation but it seems like you did everthing right which is no surprise to me. Best wishes Bro!
  22. Everything is still available. Nobody was buying at Tonefest.
  23. I dropped off the Valvetech by Rick B. (Sonicblue 1960) this morning. He will take it to Tonefest later this week. Thanks Rick!
  24. I hear ya. Rates are higher than 4.5 though.
  25. I have three amps for sale to offset my tax bill. Bad enough I had to sell a couple of guitars including my Huber now I have to let go of some amps as well. I need cash so no trades please. Valvetech 25/50 watt amp, EL-34 based head that I had custom built. Blond Tolex in mint condition. Rob just went over it a couple of months ago so it has all of his latest upgrades. $1,050.00 Shipped. Soldano Reverb-o-sonic 2x10 50 watt 6L6 based combo with purple tolex in excellent condition. This is not a high gain Soldano but it does everything else really well. $1000.00 Traynor YCV40 40 watt 5881/6l6 based 1 12 combo, red tolex, wheat grill, Celestion V30 speaker. Think of a Deluxe reverb on steroids no OD pedal required. Excellent condition. $475 Shipped. Emma Reezafratzitz OD pedal. - $135 shipped.
