I like the George Scholz Speaker, expensive but it let's you hear the speaker/guitar combo and is great with high gain amps.

Best was the October 31, 1981 show with FEAR! I have this show on Beta, too bad I don't have a Beta player. They had all these wild dancers and punks running around and they just destroyed the whole set resulting in the banning of all punk acts for a decade according to wikipedi. Thery played all their hits "I don't care about you, fuck you" "Beef Baloney", New Yorks alright if you like Saxaphones or if your a homosexual". I didn't know it but looks like John Belushi was behind their appearance, great TV, wish I could finf a cheap beta machine.

Have a few vintage guitars that I don't play as they were bought as investments. One in 59 LP Junior in excellent shape plus some vintage Hamers. I don't really follow the vintagemarket closely but LP Juniors seem to be fetching some big bucks. Would you sell or keep them? Has the market topped? Don't really need the money so I don't need to sell.

I'll take those JBs, I love them. Why don't you like them they sound good to my ears in a special. Guess my ears are shot according to most people.

My purity ones sit hanging from the wall and are slowly being sold off. I love the beaters, just bought a black special that is going to get about a zillion punk stickers on it. I sold the Punisher because it was just perfect and I didn't want to mess it up.

I'm amazed by people with the pedal boards from hell, like Boris guitar player Wata who has 12 pedals all chained togheter, sounded awesome through or are own Mike Lee who jhad some really nice tone at the HFC with 2 or 3 pedals. For me it's all too complex for my 3 chord barrages anyways. Amp, cord and guitar it's all I need, its all I want and its all I can handle anyways.

Hair is going, weight is going up but so what. Just when I got back into guitar at 51, I'm now 54 and start having fun I get arthritis in the fingers so bad I use 4-5 Advils a day for that plus my knees, back, etc. The only thing better is the money and the sex. I can last forever now unlike the teenage years! And I have money to buy lots of guitars. I told Fung when it gets to where I can't play anymore all 15 guitars are going up for sale. Could be soon at the rate I'm going.

old gibson dogears are the best for that fat tone, next up are Wolftones, he can wind anything you want and you can keep sending it back till you get it were you want it, at least that what he says he got mine right first time. Lollars are nice but too mild for me. Stock Duncans are well they just suck. But of course what the f do I know?

I've been learning some songs off the first album but man that it some awesome idea. Fun house is freaking insane!

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes, I have been out of action lately with some family and busness issues, nothing serious. I really miss being up on the latest forum "stuff" but kind of busy right now with family and business. Hope I can make the Jam in Chicago and try to get some songs "right". I would really like to play some Stooges, " I wanna be your Dog", "No Fun", etc..along with some Ramones of course.

Pam gave me some cool CD's "Sounds of 60's Slot Cars" and the "Sonics" and she showed me around LA when I was out there. Nice lady, nice husband and cute kids. Chris Matthes bought me a beer and tried to get me back stage at the Rock Hall battle of the corporate bands. Good time. ElDuave gave me a great price on a custom guitar but I didn't pull the trigger, yet! He gave me a good laugh when he lit up at the acoustic jam at the factory tour last year. I got a BCR t-shirt from Gregg but I bought a guitar. Nice purple shirt goes with my Aiken. Fung let me look at the "book" at last years open house. Wish he would have given me the Slash guitar, just kidding Peter anytime you want to sell it let me know. And no I'm not selling/trading my 4-digit. Tom Terrifc gave me encouragement to get up and play and encourgement after I screwed up at the Midwest Jam. Class guy. Carmie and Badger Dave aggreed to play with me at the Midwest jam and were very nice about it afterwards. It meant alot. I guess it's just a bunch of people helping each other out, nice in this day and age. Thanks everyone.

I've never heard Johnny Thunders described as a country and western guy. But I understand were Johnny, Keith and Eric were coming from when they were on the stuff. There are certain types of people who need that stimulus to get them to that place were it's really not about the notes, cords, etc but about the feelings that they are trying to express and then can't. It just will not come out but for a time the drug get's them there and it reflected in music that grips you, music that peels the layers of shit right off and get's right down to that person’s soul. But it doesn't last, the long downward spiral of addiction starts. And then you see the person as they struggle to either deny it or get-off it. For me when a guy was in the early years of addiction is when he made some of his best if not the best music of his career. As their addiction grew then their music goes down the tubes and they either die like Johnny or get sober like Eric. Unfortunately the sober Eric is pretty much a bore for me. Has no soul, could it be the drugs ate it? So, given that does it mean that the only good guitarist are ones that were on drugs? Not necessarily but for some reason the only ones I tend to like were. I always liked Johnny Thunders because for me he was reverse role model along with my friend John W…. I watched my father drink himself to death and that set me straight on alcohol but he died before the drug scene started. I spend years with my friend John W. trying to keep him semi-straight and off hard drugs as I dabbled myself. I watched Johnny Thunders rise with the New York Dolls and then slowly fade with the Heartbreakers. I saw him about 15-20 times from 72-82 and watched some incredible performances and some absolute train-wrecks. During that same time period I had to come to grips with my own demons and John and Johnny really helped me get through it by showing me what addiction is really all about. It is the most horrible existence one can have and it also the most exhilarating at times. Unfortunately they both didn’t make it because the horrible usually outweighs the exhilaration. I still deal with addiction everyday even though I ‘ve been clean for 25 years. The hole is always there just waiting to step into it. Every person needs different things, every person has to experience life themselves, and you can’t get answers from books or people or family. Support yes, answers no. You have to figure it out for yourself because Daddy and Mommy aren’t always right.

That would be the Gear Page where you can talk about all the you mention and avoid all the BS that gets flung about here. I love Hamers and this still is the best source of info but you have to wade thru all of this BS to get to it which somedays is not worth the effort. I understand that running a board like this is tough but right now this board has turned into too much of a "Jerry Springer" like experience for me. I think if it doesn't get cleaned up soon it will sink under the weight of its own mud slingin!
