Steve Haynie Posted April 20, 2025 Posted April 20, 2025 A drummer who "overplayed" during a Who concert...? Hmmm... Nope. I cannot recall anyone having done that before. 3 Quote

Years ago, I read about John Entwistle doing a bass clinic tour. He would play to preprogrammed songs on a drum machine. At one stop, the machine went haywire and was just spewing out random drum patterns, which he played with for a bit, then said, "Huh - kind of like playing with Keith Moon." 4 Quote
kizanski Posted May 19, 2025 Posted May 19, 2025 Good. Maybe we can stop now. It's time. The Who fire drummer Zak Starkey for second time in a month Kudos to Zak for adding the zinger to Pete with his own lyrics: "There have been “weeks of mayhem of me going ‘in an out an in an out an in an out like a bleedin squeezebox,” Starkey added." ARM OF HAMER Posted May 20, 2025 Posted May 20, 2025 (edited) Saw them here in Minnesota at the old MET CENTER................now gone and replaced by the MALL OF AMERICA. They did most everything off WHO'S Next. They were amazing and YES Moon was alive and in fine shape that night, he was wailing on those drums. Wish I could have been here also. Ranger Posted May 21, 2025 Posted May 21, 2025 Check out the "Live in Texas '75" concert DVD. Everyone is playing/singing great, and you get to see Entwistle sing Boris the Spider. High energy show from the first song. Moon fucks with Townshend the whole show. 2 Quote

RobB Posted May 23, 2025 Posted May 23, 2025 The last time they played Chase Center in SF, Roger told the crowd to quit smoking weed because he is allergic and it messes with his vocal cords. What a schmukaloon... 1 Quote

django49 Posted May 23, 2025 Posted May 23, 2025 Pete: “We’re getting too old, I can hardly play and you can hardly sing any more, perhaps we should retire this summer” Roger: “What?” Pete: “ I said, perhaps we should retire this summer” Roger: “Ok - we’ll fire the drummer” 4 Quote
