Birchard Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Anyone interested in an old Hamer Standard? SN# 0240I'm the origional owner and bought this guitar new in 1979.Beautiful curly Maple top, bound body and neck, Crown inlays, Cherry Sunburst finish. This guitar has been played! It's in nice shape though. It does have normal finish checking and dings here and there but is not beat up at all. OHSCMake me an offer!Pics available and will post them in a day or two...
polara Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I'll add the inevitable replies... First. Welcome! Nice piece of instrument to have as your first post, too. Second, you will be offered $350. It is a tradition, and a proud one here. Third, you will be asked if you are interested in trades. FINALLY you will be asked for photos. We all love to see the guitars we can't afford! Again, welcome.
Birchard Posted July 20, 2006 Author Posted July 20, 2006 Thank you all for your kind replies!I will have great pics posted here and copies sent to all who emailed me. On a personal note, it hurts my heart to part with this one. I'm a collector/player and this one has been with me a long time and used at hundreds of shows over the years... I simply have too many guitars and need to thin my collection a bit as it's become costly to maintain them all regularly...Birch
Birchard Posted July 23, 2006 Author Posted July 23, 2006 Thanks to all the Hamer fans that replied to my ad. You all are some of the best folks I've met in quite a while and you all should be proud! This ordeal has finally come to a close and "old #0240" will have a new owner. I will not say who has her or what amount was given, they have all the bragging rights and can do so if they wish. Again, thanks to you all you're a great bunch. Looking forward to staying active with this forum! All the best,Birch

peedenmark7 Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 bummer... never got pics from this seller...congrats though to the new owner.!
Punkavenger Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 No sorry, I didnt get it either ... But someday 0150 will be mine!
belgian Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Pickups don't seem original...., so 351 $ is a right price.
Disturber Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 bummer... never got pics from this seller...congrats though to the new owner.!Never got picks either. Now who got it? Please tell.Considering the price that Killroy's old Standard wentfor to Tokyo Tapes I'm dying to find out how muchthis one went for. Any little bird that can spill the beans....?
serial Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Based on some of the bids people mentioned to me, I'd guess it went in the price range they usually sell for now (of course, I have no solid info, mostly conjecture from some people who placed bids that weren't winners).
