quimby Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Looking for a player-grade 2tek-bridge cruise bass. What's the going rate? Anybody got one? Sometimes these get posted at hard-to-pass-up prices ($400 and below!)...but it seems like average price sits somewhere between $500 and $600 for 5-strings and $450-$500 for 4 strings. (These prices are completely based on my memory.) They are amazing basses. I've had a 5-string cruise since 2001 and I'll never sell it. I take it with me wherever I go.
Jimbilly Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 I think quimby is about right on w/ those prices, some more minty ones might be a bit more. If nobody offers one, keep looking here for a couple months, they pop up fs kinda regularly.
Jeff R Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 I had a chance to pick up a very clean 4-string 2tek in seafoam green with matching head and OHSC for $400 a few years ago in a pawn shop. Still regret passing that deal up, even if I ain't a real bass player.
jwhitcomb3 Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 I've got a nice 4 string black cherry burst 2Tek Cruise that I'll be selling in a couple of months. Stay tuned! If anyone wants to do a trade for an Eclipse, let me know!-Jonathan

blackfbiv Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 even if I ain't a real bass player. I don't think I've ever heard a guitarist admit that before... Thanks Jeffro Dion

marcnorth Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Here's one.http://cgi.ebay.com/HAMER-CRUISE-4-STRING-...1QQcmdZViewItem
MCChris Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Here's one.http://cgi.ebay.com/HAMER-CRUISE-4-STRING-...1QQcmdZViewItemSweet color!
cmatthes Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 That's what I think...don't look like frets on there.
quimby Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 I have a fretless Cruise that looks just like that (except it's black). I think Hamer fills in the fret slots with some sort of woodlike material...so the lines are there but the frets aren't. So I vote for fretless too. It's also a 2-tek bridge (it's listed as having a gotoh bridge).
anotherfreak2 Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Well crap! The last thing I need fight now is a freakin' ebay account!if someone here gets it and decides to part with it, I want first dibs!the stupidest thing I did was sell my fretless to a student!
cmatthes Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Not fretless. Reasons I think it IS fretless: Ebony board (sure looks like it - most Rosewood Cruise boards are significantly lighter) Hamer did a maple-inlaid "fret" option on their fretlesses. I've seen more of them with those than without. No silver frets. Even if they were dirty as hell, they'd be at least equally as bright as the strings. I'm sticking to my guess!

Mike Bluight Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 I absolutely love my 96 2tek...definately not going anywhere...had the grave misfortune of selling two others The keeper: Please excuse the fingerprints...(lol):
