Guest JackButler Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Apologies in advanced for NOT having any pics. We only have one cam and the kids awards ceremony/last day of school coincided with the studio stuff and I wanted pics of what I was gonna miss out on with the kids. Three days.. one to travel.. one to record and one to get back home on. We had about 16-18 hours scheduled for this since there was only one day's worth of time open on the books. Started recording around 8:40 in the morning.. took an hour for lunch and we were completely done including voice markers/overdubs by 6:30pm. The facility was uber outfitted and the engineer was superb (he's also cousin to Phil Lydon..pretty cool! He showed up for work wearing a kilt..which I thought was extremely RAWK! Now I gotta get me one! lol). My editor was there to personally wade through and endure all this with me..which again I thought was extremely RAWK! I cannot say enough good about the folks at NGW, Workshop Arts Pub. and Workshop LIVE!. Looks like we may be expanding the Intelli-Shred line to video in the coming year and I'm already compiling notes and ideas for a future addition. I got an advance engrave of the book and they'll be sending me a final copy to sign off on in the coming week. They guys work fast! While I was there I got to preview the cover art and all I can say is that I was absolutely blown away! VERY slick and modern. ..more to come on that as that give me slack to leak some of it..lol. BTW for those who travel with instruments.. the folk at US Airways were really polite and accomodating to me and my guitar...NO HASSLES! Now sitting on the runway in Charlotte for 2 hours in the plane and then flying into those Northeastern thunderstorms and the hour and half drive by rental car into Mass that night..thats a whole different story! It was beautiful weather for the day of recording and Friday was more of the same foul Wednesday weather.. the Friday layover in Philly went from 30 minutes to 4 hours.. I was really glad to get out of all that bad weather and back to my family Friday night.. Hard to believe how this whole thing went from scribble on manuscript in the back of an apartment me and my kids shared to now..sitting in my house with the kids and a new wife .. with an actual hard copy of Intelli-Shred sitting here on the desk in front of me.. with graphics and photos and everything.. very surreal in many ways. MUCH thanks again to everyone for their support and friendship and brotherhood! Incredible amounts of love for so many folks here. More to come... very soon. Thank you, Kev

seeker Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Congrats too, it has been a long hard road. Does this mean my pre-mass media version will becom a collectible? Whoo hooo!
tafkathundernotes Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Congrats too, it has been a long hard road. Does this mean my pre-mass media version will becom a collectible? Whoo hooo! Yeah - I wish I could find my copy. It's around here............ somewhere.
Guest JackButler Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Thanks guys! I'm guessing that we'll see a release in as soon as the next 6-8 weeks.. I'm thinking most certainly by the time summer Namm gets here as it'll be on display and they'll be taking orders I'm told probably before then.I don't know about the value of the old version, but I can say the new one absolutely buries the original. First thing they had me do was triple the content and add 4 original etudes/songs/solo pieces written just for this book. Add to this that everythings on disc now and mostly broken down and then back up to speed..and there you go..lol.. hopefully my guy's gonna leak me the cover by the weekend..and I'll see what I can do as far as slipping a link to it on here.
FunkyE9th Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Congrats! Always good to see fellow HFCers do well.-FunkyE9th

cmatthes Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 Can't wait to check it out! I thought the original was fantastic - version 2.0 must be something else.Thumbs up, Kevin!
Guest JackButler Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 I just went in the final version. They sent me one more to approve the cosmetics and such. Five or so readings and play throughs back to back and looks error free and really tight. Nice graphics and a few pics too! I think the only thing they're waiting on now is my pic..lol.. but I'm meeting with the photog this afternoon to pick one out. Mix and master on the disc is complete as well.. its one of those things where its sooooo close.. its all I can think about.. kinda like Christmas or something.
