Krank Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Please pardon me, complete beginner's question, but: what years did the Sunbursts come with a Gibson-style bridge as shown throughout this thread? And how does such a Sunburst model differ from a Studio - did the two models overlap?
Frank Neli Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Hi,this is my Sunburst 1979 with Crown Inlays. Serial number 9 0751.All the bestFrankSorry, the add of the foto doesn't work. I don't know what my mistake is?
nervous Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 This arrived to me today. 1991 Sunburst that looks in so many ways like it just came off the sales floor. What a beauty. Really. I'll post some fresh pics when I get some time over the weekend and after she gets a little special cleaning and care. Also, a public thank you to JohnnyThunders for agreeing to sell me this and getting it to me so quickly and safely. A fine HFC-er.

svl Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 1978 (8 0111) Sunburst, with the original DiMarzio pickups, tuners, etc. r God, I love this guitar. Plays like a dream, roars like a lion and then purrs like a kitten. One of the best buys I ever made. Another thanks to Travis for letting her go.
svl Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Quick question for caliban- did you rotate the neck PUP for some reason, or is that an aftermarket mod?
caliban335 Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 That was the way it was configured when I purchased the guitar used. A previous owner had also installed a Super Distortion in the bridge position, so I got a period correct pickup to replace the SD from BCR Greg. At least it wasn't routed for a Kahler or something crazy like that.
bubs_42 Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 How about a pair of them. #7 0051 now has a buddy to hang with. #7 0089
Feynman Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 That is not fair. You can't have them all!
zenmindbeginner Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Crazy awesome cherry bursts Bubs! Me likey!
crunchee Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 That is not fair. You can't have them all! Only 98 to go. I dig the Gibson-style bursts on them! Centered, but not extending to the cutaway horns.
wil50n Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Lucky bugger Bubs, very nice !! I have a close cousin, 7 0094.

svl Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Bob, I think I've said this before, but if you are EVER willing to part with her, please hit me up. I absolutely love that Sunburst!
