Jeroen Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 I am just home from my trip to Slovenija and all of a sudden I am in a hairband mood:)Just found out that Sebastian Bach had a new album (2007) I heard afew previews, but I think it good ol' killer music:) I've ordered it right away so it will be here next week I guess.. Any opinions on that album??I was listening to some Skidrow music too but with that singer they have it can't get my attention. Now when hearing the new Bach stuff it comes clear that a lot of the Skidrow music I liked had a big Bach input..Anyway, I always found him a great singer...screamer if u like:) so....maybe more fans here?Jeroen
edgar_allan_poe Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Absolutely. I haven't heard anything from the album you speak of, but he is one of the most powerful voices I have ever heard. I love the Skid Row stuff, it is some of my favorite music of that era. Unfortunately he is supposed to be a *major* dick. LOL!!!
serial Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Unfortunately he is supposed to be a *major* dick. LOL!!!Apparently in the Tommy Lee category. My wife's cousin's husband (who worked with Trixter and Blue Oyster Cult in the late 80s and through the 90s) toured with Skid Row in the 80s. He's passed on some "bus stories"...
Steve Haynie Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Sebastian Bach really is a great singer without a doubt. Only one person has ever said anything nice about him, and that was Ace Frehley. Apparently Rachel Bolan is never going to agree to a reunion with Bach, so Skid Row will continue with their new singer, Johnny Sollinger. Having seen both versions of the band, Sollinger showed much more respect for the audience.

According to Howard Stern, Sebastian is rumored to be able to tie his "major dick" into a knot, and proved it on the show!

Bobby (my wife's cousin's husband) said that the worst bunk you could get on the bus was UNDER Sebastian's. Unless you wanted something dangling in your face in the morning...
elduave Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Entertaining in a train wreck sort of way. Any singing I've heard him do since SR's heyday sounded thin, weak and nasal.
atquinn Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Can't take him seriously after Gilmore Girls. Wait, couldn't take him seriously before Gilmore Girls either . -Austin
Feynman Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 1) Dude can sing 2) He is/has a dick 3) I'd kill for this guitar tone:
Craig Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 I have that disk - it's ok. Some great stuff, some is very dated. Overall, I give it 4-5 stars out if 10. Ironically, Sebastian was very cool to me when I met him. Go figure.

MCChris Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 ...speaking of Dicks...What a Dick!I wonder how he held it together from 1:30-1:39 in this video.
serial Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 ...speaking of Dicks...What a Dick!I wonder how he held it together from 1:30-1:39 in this video. Why does Andy Dick remind me of Pauley Shore?
elduave Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 ...speaking of Dicks...What a Dick!Well, he does have a new show premier on Thursday night...
Jeroen Posted July 16, 2008 Author Posted July 16, 2008 Saw several things of him on youtube...ofcourse he has(d) an attitude and uses the F word more then he would be using his dick...but with that voice let me be a dick then:)What I also like is that this guy believes in his music, when people of the compagnies and labels let him down and didn't gave back his part of the $$ he finishid his product payed it himself personal instead of the big companies...so that is reason for me enough too buy it:) I liked the previews and I am a 80's kid so if it sound like that then I am in:) that gillmore stuff was crap...but hey....they probably payed well:) just my 2 dimes
Cary Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 I just caught SB Sunday night with Dokken and Poison. All of those singers were having a hard time hitting some of the notes they did back in the day. I didn't recognize most of Bach's stuff, but I Remember You, Youth Gone Wild and Eighteen and Life were pretty cool to hear. The sound sucked. Don Dokken was pretty funny, cracking casual jokes with the audience and playing most of the good Dokken hits. Poison put on a great show, too (yeah, I know some will scoff, but FU - it's only Rock and Roll). Like I said, all three were having a hard time hitting all the old notes, but it was fun nonetheless. My 14 year old had a great time, and that's what mattered the most.
gatorbyte007 Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Skid Row was a great Band With Bach. And is still a Great Band With johny. Very Different Now. These Guys are very down to earth. they Know there 15mim of fame are up. But just want to play. And these guys can play. Skid Row shows are Very interesting to say the least.
Feynman Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 I have that tone..... Showoff! I think by now you have or have had EVERY tone, no?
Boogie1 Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 I saw the Bach-less and Snake-less Skid Row last year with Tesla, an outdoor show at a casino. Tesla kicked ass. Jeff Keith can still hit the high notes. Frank Hannon still kicks ass. However, without Bach and Snake Sabo, Skid Row sucked!
formula73 Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 ...speaking of Dicks...What a Dick!I wonder how he held it together from 1:30-1:39 in this video. Why does Andy Dick remind me of Pauley Shore?Because they starred in that "In The Army Now" movie together.
roqit Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 oh man these dudes f*in rocked! personal traits good or bad aside Sebastian has to be one of the greatest vocalists ever, too bad they mostly got labeled by their ballads(which still rocked) Also if your in the market for some new hairband...i just saw a commercial for a new tesla album! anyone heard that?
Dasein Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Sorry guys -- I'm 39 and a life-long hard rock metal head and musician -- and I have to say, it was guys like Sebastian, and bands like Skid Row that made me feel embarrassed to wear my hair long. Watching MTV (Much Music in Canada) when metal was allocated to a hour rotation once a week, - more Skid Row meant less Metallica, or any other of a 1000 or more bands with musical integrity. Sebastian is a dick and I wish he'd choke on one so we never have to hear from him again. Yes I am bitter because the legacy of those before him paved such a wonderful and glorious path that Sebastian's musical legacy is a skid-mark on that same path -- a big long brown skid-mark.
